Crooked Stave finally closing at The Source

Yeah, this has apparently been in the works for a while. I don't really have an opinion. I love the old spot for nostalgic reasons, but it's less convenient for me to reach. You basically have to be going there to go there. A lot of people hated the Source, but at least there were things (like food and other breweries) really close by.
From their point of view you have to imagine it's waaaay cheaper not to be in the Source, though. No clue what kind of traffic they pulled, but it was never super busy in my experience.

 

When they had special events and tappings it was a nightmare at the The Source. If the old taproom has remained the same size, I can't imagine what it will be like there.

FWIW I did enjoy the old taproom, for nostalgic reasons, as well.

 

I think this is awesome news. The source was a big turn off for me.

There are totally other breweries/booze options near by with Diebolt, Factotem, and Bonacquisti (wine)

Not that food options are great, but there is a quiznos, monkey barrel, and crush pizza.

 

I have to confess I always preferred the old tap room. I am looking forward very much to hitting it again..

 

Good. I didn't like having beer in cages. Don't fence me in, bruh!
Too bad the grand opening is during Big Beers, but glad they're doing it. Sunnyside is a-changing (good/bad?) and it's not THAT far from the Tennyson area. But it is next door to the police.
I was going to ask what's taking CS place at The Source, but then I realized that I'd never go there anyway. Hurrumph
