As of 20 mins ago, Rev posted that VSOD (and I'm assuming Ryeway) will likely make it until tomorrow for those interested.

 

It’s almost as if...this is driven not by concern for children being in a brewery, but by finding an easy target amongst those who are in line for the same (limited) cans.

 

I also like the subtle self-own that underlies much of this: “how dare these parents bring their kids around debauched animals like me and my buddies. Who knows what I’m capable of at 5:30!”

 

It's almost as if... those things have nothing to do with it...

 

Children should not be at breweries anymore than I should be getting wasted at a playground. You stay in your lane and I'll stay in mine.

 

Isn’t “Getting wasted at a playground” the controversial new IPA that Mikerphone might need to change the name of very soon.

 

Now, I wouldn’t take my kids to a release by any means. But I’ll bring them and my dog to Metropolitan and play board games every weekend and feel perfectly comfortable. Hell, my daughter has been going to the Rev Brewpub for so long that she’s known each of the four different cheese sauces they have used for their pretzels over the years, and is still upset that they switched from the second iteration.

But again, I wouldn’t bring my stroller to a busy release. We just can’t throw blanket statements like this out.

 

I (again) awkwardly approached Marty and said hello and thanks. Had a great ~ 20 min conversation about the entire deep woods portfolio, barrel aging, and other beer related stuff. Truly great people (and company) that I'm more than happy to support.
