My town may never make it, but we've got less than 10k people and have Sante Adairius, so fuck that list.

San Francisco. Along with sky high rents, providing you can even find a place to rent to begin with, also has the highest price for a pint of beer. Not that anyone who lives in the Bay Area doesn't already know.

Santa Cruz isn't much better. But we do have way better beaches, and my cops let me drink in public, so totally worth it.

Go to Asheville and stay at the old Haywood Park Hotel. It is a lovely old re-fitted department store, not (so) expensive, private and like a 1920s place from F. Scott Fizgerald's work. Everything is within walking distance. I highly recommend this place and locale.....It is perfect to my sensibilities..

OK, but how many better things are there to discuss while drinking than obscure lists?

I agree with Portland, Bend, Seattle, Eugene and Bellingham. All solid choices but Spokane? The only two good breweries I've experienced there are Iron Goat and No-Li which were just ok.

I like how their weird metric resulted in an atypical list, but creating a metric like this to determine something that isn't really measurable only results in nonsense.

Lawrence KS ahead of San Diego? :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy: That's all you need to know that this "list" is an absolute joke. But yet I still read this crap.

Nearest city on here to me is Syracuse at 29, but I'm almost a two hour drive from there.

How about NYC or one of the surrounding boroughs area breweries. They have some top shelf stuff Singlecut . Other Half, Threes, Brooklyn, Sixpoint, KCBC, Evil twin, Finback, Grimm, etc .............Those lists are whacked out but that's what those lists do

Average number of beers per brewery (based on what beers have been added to RB) seems kinda flimsy as a metric, but I like that they were transparent about their method.

The entire system seemed to be about the city with the most breweries, producing the most beers, at the lowest pricepoint per capita. Quality never even entered into their equation.

Based on that criteria, actually surprised Albuquerque was not there. While the quality for the vast majority is not there (and that doesn't seem to matter for this list), we certainly have a shit ton of breweries, especially per capita, offering beers at pretty reasonable prices. The bar scene is quite lacking, so that had to be a strike against.

They actually underpriced the greater Seattle area @ $6 a glass. It's more like $7-$9.

    Example from up the street...

For real. I can name at least 10 breweries from the San D area that KILL it.
