No idea on value but I cracked a Schaarbeekse Kriek Oogst last week and it was absolutely fantastic.

SK Oogst 2017 is going to be the most obtainable since it was in 3F’s spring box. Probably a hair harder to land than a Fou Foune, and it was pretty expensive at retail too, so keep that in mind. Older paper label SKs are gonna be tough. I’d think if you offered a BAA19 you’d have to get pretty lucky to land one of those.

Is there a market at all for DDH King Sue? Haven’t seen any completed trades and I’ve got a few bottles I might be looking to move, but I have no clue What return they might generate.

I've noticed that DDH King Sue moves on secondary for roughly 20-25 dollars a bottle but there are very few trades here.

I know this was a while ago, but just out of curiosity, after everything is all said and done, in the 2019 fiscal year, how many 2019 Bourbon Counties are you out after leaving with 1 BBT? If it's close to $4$, I'd have just done a one and done trade for that.

Then again, I'm a rare breed who adheres to a strictly $4$ trading format, and find secondary market values to be downright sickening. Call me crazy, but I'm in it for the beer, not a profit.

For curiosity sake you’d be out 2-3 bcbs depending on the variant. BBT was $50/bottle. If you have a BBT, I definitely have $4$ BCBS for you. Will send a nice extra too.

My guess is you don’t have the BBT. $4$ trades are great when you are trading equallly valuable beers. But, one wouldn’t trade $4$ bud light for vanilla black note or BBT because they aren’t the same value beers. You just posted a trade in the completed beers forum of beer that is equal value that you did $4$. You wouldn’t have traded your vanilla black note and bissel swish for a 1/2 keg of bud light.

You can call it a secondary market if you want. But, that’s not a 100% accurate moniker on this forum because we aren’t selling beer for money. A more accurate way to think of secondary is a way to match values of beer. Examples like your vanilla black note trade for cantillon, etc. It is a bit of an extreme comment to say secondary values are “downright sickening” because you probably abide by the general principle too.

For disclosure sake I do have BBT. I stare at it for a couple minutes every day and worship the bottle. No way I trade it for a case of BCBS.

Why has barrel aged Mexican cake dropped off so hard?? Can’t even land a trade for some haze cans?

I don't know, but probably availability, and also possibly the muddying of what's worth getting caused by having so many variants.

I'm probably in the minority here, but personally I enjoy BA MC more than BAA, although it is a little spicier on the pepper end, whereas Abraxas is always a cinnamon bomb. So, maybe sensitive stomachs are to blame?

I've only had one iteration of each (15 BAMC, 18 BAA) but that matches my opinion, though both were very good (and I typically dislike any Mexican stouts).

The availability is definitely a big factor, as well as the fact that the people who did purchase BAMC this year had to purchase a lot (right?) and therefore there's simply more people looking to unload it as opposed to if people were allowed to buy smaller quantities.

I traded for a few though, and will certainly be looking for more if it reminds me of the '15 I had.

I was using BCBS as a means to not mention cash, as the thread instructions requested. I was asking how much the bottle retails for. BCBS is about $10, so the answer would have been "about 5". Of course no one is going to trade BBT for standard BCBS. But thank you for the snappy answer.

    @Affinity ^ for clarification

Asking what a bottle retails for isn’t ‘verboten,’ is it?

Which is precisely why I used BCBS as my "currency" reference. Man, I can't even ask a simple question without someone jumping at an opportunity for criticism.

Since that has nothing to do with trade or secondary value, you could have just asked for the retail value in the actual Side Project thread then.

Interesting that your original post went about asking about "retail value" in a fairly long-winded, roundabout way by disparaging secondary and trade value, and praising $4$ trading.

 that's not what you did, at least be straight about it.

To clarify: the thread rules don't ask that you use BCBS as a measuring stick (that would be weird). They ask that you use "VRU," ie a secondary price of a beer that was popular in the past on the "sickening" secondary market.

If you're simply looking for the retail price of a beer I think a quick google search would be a better tool at your disposal than would be a thread that revolves, at least partially, around a practice you find "sickening" like this one.

Edit: after re-reading, there's no possible way you were simply asking for the retail price like you suggested. You were asking someone who traded for BBT: "how many 2019 Bourbon Counties are you out after leaving with 1 BBT?" How did you possibly think this was supposed to be requesting the retail price lol?

I read your original post and had no idea that you were trying to ask what the retail cost was...

I know Eppie. Ive traded with him. It was convenient that he brought up BBT and Weller 12, because I've been curious about what BBT trades for, and I have W12. I was saying I would have done the trade. Then I asked about the price of BBT by using BCBS as a reference. That shouldn't be too hard to see, and I think Eppie would agree that he got the point.

You're supposed to use value menu double cheeseburgers as a reference, duh...
