I’m confused. There is literally a trading thread dedicated to $4$. How on earth can anything get done there if one can’t ask what the retail price of a bottle was?

"How many BCBS are you [person who is trading for BBT] out after leaving with one BBT?"

Miscommunications do happen all the time, especially on the internet, and I don't think anyone here is vilifying you for what sounds like an innocent mistake... but surely in retrospect you can see how this doesn't sound at all like asking what the retail of BBT was, right? And that this is a... weird?... place to go to to ask about the retail price?... while at the same time trying to make a point about secondary?

If I google "Side Project BBT release" the very first link that comes up answers the question one might hypothetically have about retail.

No, I can completely see how my question was misinterpreted. I don't blame anyone for that. I just didn't appreciate the way some people responded, and then still didn't believe me that I was just curious about the value, and then accuse me of not knowing a thing about beer, and trying to inquire about trading BCBS for BBT which we all know is silly. That's all I'm defending myself on.

Wait. So you were looking for value, as in secondary value, right? You said earlier you were looking for the retail value. Your original question makes more sense if you were in fact looking for secondary value. It sounds like you switched back and forth and that's why people reacted like they did.

I hope that sheds some light on the confusion!

I spoke wrong just now. I didn't mean "trading for". I was really just wondering about the price in relation to W12, which isn't much more if obtained from a good shop. The entire point of my question was to get an idea for how close BBT and W12 were in price, just to see if either hypothetical party would lose much monetary investment, which they wouldn't. For the record, I'm not even interested in looking for BBT at the moment. Some day, absolutely, but not right now.

    I'm sorry I even asked.

As for @eppie82 - the whole point of my comment was to eventually say, "yeah, I think someone would bite on that offer". I would.

Cheers, everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

I've been slowly getting into bourbon and whiskey, and am relatively ignorant when it comes to availability, cost and quality of most. Weller 12 year was a recommendation from one of my friends who does know his liquors well (not so much beer though), with the comment that it might be a bit of a challenge to obtain but not as absurd as something like Pappy. Hence I asked if it would be possible to acquire Weller 12 bottles with a beer bottle of 'high' value in my possession.

I'm too hesitant still to make a trade for any bourbon. Maybe over time (and after a few drinks!) I'll change my mind.

Honestly, the much more easily attainable Special Reserve is by far a more enjoyable bourbon. Well, to me and many of those in my circle, anyway. The only thing is you can't taste the hype in that bottle...

Oh but you can feel it ( the hype) when you touch the bottle.

That was the 60th year anniversary release in tin back in 06. It was by far the best quad of it's time and was a game changer. Managed to land a few cases when the main distributor wanted to host his release party and tasting dinner at a buddies bar.

I've been such a raver of Eagle Rare 10 yr of late. It's by far the most enjoyable affordable bourbon I've been slamming of late. Right at the level of some of the better Booker and even Willet 4yr I've had.

I don't know what's up with Weller of late. I could have sworn 6 months ago people hunting for bourbon would specifically write "no wellers" and now it's trading like it's going extinct.

Anyone have any clue of how OG Cigar City Moat Water is holding up? Would it trade for any bigger bottles like BAIGGCS? How about DB Huna B1?

Have a guy offering a godznilla for a prop 19. really early in discussions but no idea if I should be asking for a plus or not. Not a lot of main and mill being traded around me.

I think I've seen a godznilla go for a 2019 bcbs rye, so I would guess he'd need a smaller plus?

Adding a few more bottles that I haven’t seen move much lately so no idea if I’m overvaluing...

    BA Abraxas 19
    Adjunct trail (non ba)
Imperial German chocolate cake (non ba).

Looked everyone for recent trades and can’t find crap.

I've got a couple various (mostly barleywine) questions.

    1. What's the value for Fremont B3K or non-adjunct B-Bomb? I don't have much of a pulse on what those trade for.

    2. Does Prop 14 trade 1:1 with Assassin?

    3. How high does A Deal With the Devil trade? What kind of plus(es) would be needed to land ADWTD with Prop 14 as an anchor?

3a. Does ADWTD trade higher or lower than King Henry?

Can't really answer your question, other than for Bbomb. Fremont makes a lot of it and it's pretty well distributed these days. It's certainly not what I would describe as a shelf turd here in the NW, but it doesn't fly off the shelf either. Plenty of places here in pdx still carry the 2019 for example.

So I'm pretty sure you're looking at $4$ trade for this beer. Even the variants see pretty good distribution now, so I'm not sure even the coconut or the C&C would go for much more than $4$ trades.

I've been curious about pastry lace the most recent FT: was asking cable car+younger. In generally I don't see a lot of forager FT. Would love to get my hands on a pastry lace but damn that younger release is not going to be worth the hassle. I didn't hunt last years and of consecutive years past I recall it being diminished returns.

By looks of it this year , the only thing that’s diminishing are short lines for younger.

Thanks - good to know! I had B3K at a festival and loved it. And that piqued my interest for B-Bomb.

Anyone know if Prop 14 is of roughly equivalent value to ADWTD DO or Assassin?

Prop 14 should be pretty spot on for ADWTD DO or a recent Assassin (maybe might take a small +?)
