Yeah, I'm sitting on the rest of my GS. It wasn't terrible by any means, but certainly more apricot notes than I've gotten out of Galaxy hops previoisly. While I applaud FW for offering refunds, asking for one isn't even something I'd consider.

wow I did as you said.....it's like 75% 4-5 stars, 25% 0.5 stars with long comment chains saying people need to be fired. I really don't know what to make out of this.

Wish they did this for King Galaxy and Coconut Milk. Shit was terrible. I'm off the FW train for now.

It's a tough position to be in for cans - plop down $ in advance, or get there early on release day and hope to get a taster down before cans sell out? It's putting risk in faith vs. abandoning convenience.

This happens to every world class brewery at some point in time, it's how the problem is addressed and resolved that is most important. I didn't read the vitriol but someone calling for others to lose their jobs over a bad batch of beer exposes a lot more about that person than the supposed bad batch of beer that is wreaking havoc on his/hers pathetic life. psssssst, it's only beer man.

    Cheers,

I saw Pulp on draft at my local bar in town, I had 2 pours, it was very enjoyable, perhaps lighter bodied than I recall having in Berkeley 2 years ago. They also had a FW Helles Lager that was nice as well.

Lol! Just read that untapped thread and it's crazy. I don't get how so many people can be so satisfied and yet others so hate filled lol. Kinda wish I'd been in town to get some just to try it for myself, but frankly Galaxy Sauce was never as good as Galaxy Juice to me, which is one of, if not the best Galaxy IPA I've had.

The product hasn't been consistent enough to maintain the confidence needed for advanced sales. I can deal with slight batch variation as long as the end product is still decent, but there have been some downright undrinkable beers. It sucks because FW's produced some of my favorite beers over the past couple years. On the upside, I used Coconut Milk to braise some chicken legs with chipotle peppers and it came out pretty damn good.

Agreed. Plus I don't need many 9+% DIPAs in my life these days. Though they do make a nice ski lift chair share beer with a couple friends.

I skipped out on this batch of GS after the last one, but I can't see how it could possibly be as bad as the false King Galaxy, and nobody handed out a pass then. I'll probably come around next time they can Galaxy Juice tho. Just gotta know what to avoid.

GJ and Pulp are usually pretty good, so I have more confidence buying those beers, but I've had some less than impressive batches of them before too. I think I'm just gonna avoid until I see that folks don't have any complaints for a while.

New DIPA with Nelson and Citra, Moped Music. Quite tasty for my palate and preferences.

I don't think the whole point is avoiding distribution.....

"To find new locations for taprooms, Braden works with his real estate partner, Matt Holmes.

“He’s always on the hunt for what he thinks are attractive locations or landlords that are interested in working with us,” Braden said, “and I just filter through those…a lot of it is gut feel.”

Braden said Fieldwork is debt and loan free, so when deciding on new locations, he considers how much the cost will be to build the brewery and how soon he can expect a return.

“The location that cost us the most was a million dollars, but we did a million dollars in sales in that location in the first 90 days,” he said. Construction is all funded through retained earnings.

The most difficult part about having six locations for Braden is staffing and retention."
