What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2621

Unfortunately, I am back. But, for the rest of the people that enjoy my general presence, you don’t have to wait any longer. I haven’t been drunk in over a month, but it’s not like I didn’t review a few beers here and there. All weekends were well slept, 20+ hours. And with all of that new free time and additional money not spent on beer, I filled up my Steam account with holiday sales. Been Playing X-Com 2, Borderlands 2, Fallout 4/NV, and Skyrim all week. Been over 5 years since I played any video games seriously. Just bought Ace Combat 7 last night, because I found my Sidewinder flight stick in the closet.

Also been practicing some metal cover songs and jamming. My parents brought up my Epi SG yesterday, but I have to fix the electronics on the bridge P/U circuit, because it only works in a certain weird way on the jack. Neck bucker is ok though. I am going to start building a full pedal board this week. I have a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone, and I will be buying a TU-3 Tuner, power daisy chain for the whole board; plus some kind of noise gate. Already have a cry baby, will get some delay etc once I figure out what I want to do.

Weldwerks Juicy Bits. Fantastic NEIPA. Lasting head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge mandarin orange juice/pulp, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew, watermelon, red apple, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; creamy/bready/grainy malts, with some sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Minimal warming 6.7%. Fantastic Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Looking forward to trying more from them, this was my first. 4.23

The plant manager decided to actually idle the plant for Christmas (with no additional maintenance work) so I get today and tomorrow off for the first time in five years. We stayed pretty busy last night shutting everything down, but now I'm home and ready for a morningcap...

Most of my family lives in the Minneapolis, MN, area, and I will see them in two weeks. However, I had a wonderful evening last night, due to cousins in Minneapolis, MN. Kirk Cousins, that is.

 

903 Mocha Vanilla Buzz. This was awesome. Aromas and flavors of big milk/white chocolate, cocoa, nutty medium roast coffee, vanilla, cream, cracker, corn, white bread dough, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; creamy/bready/grainy malts, and lightly sticky/chalky coffee mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. No warmth of 5.2%. Great soft feel, very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Awesome balance of coffee, vanilla, and clean malt flavors; light earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Refreshing. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Spot on style stuff. 4.1
