    Hi guys,

I'd like some clarification here. I understand that if you open a trade with someone, and say person A doesn't leave feedback for person B, then person B ends up taking a hit to their trader score, thus permanently losing their 100% rating. My question is, how long a period of neglect does it take before someone's score gets ruined due to no feedback? Also, In that situation, is there any way to repair it once it already happens? It would be really unfortunate to lose your trusted trader feedback simply because someone may have forgotten to give feedback, or maybe didn't understand the repercussions.

This seems to be a difficult subject to find reliable information on, and before I start annoying and whining at anyone to leave feedback, I just want to get the full picture here, and see how much time there is before it gets down to the wire. Thanks guys.

I think the person who doesn’t leave feedback takes a hit, not the person who didn’t get the feedback.

I thought it seemed really unfair to dock points from an innocent victim. I'd like to see a few more people confirm this, but that would make a lot more sense. I was just repeating what I was told by someone.

Info about feedback can be found here: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/trading-feedback-system-explained.185895/

Failure to leave feedback and delinquent feedback impact an user's reputation percentage. If they’ve done either of above it’s reflected in their Trading Stats breakdown.

    Reputation | Trades:
    Good:
    Okay:
    Bad:
    Unique | Repeat Traders:
    Pending | Open:
    Delinquent Feedback: (in yellow)
    Failed Feedback: (in red)

Thanks for that. That's really what I was looking for, but could not seem to find it. My biggest question though, which I didn't see that cover is - is @jrnyc correct in his above statement?

I'm basically just wondering, if I've left feedback for a trader, but they fail to leave feedback for me, will my reputation also be affected by that?

    Yes. No.

You do all your part of the trade and you're rep will remain intact. I believe the only thing that won't show up is an increase to your total trades completed. The number after your reputation percentage. All sides need to leave feedback for this to update, I think.

I recently had a trade where everything was completed except my partner's feedback for me. I sent a gentle reminder requesting that they leave feedback and they promptly complied. I wanted that trade to reflected in my total trades/completed. Doesn't hurt to send a request and or ask a mod to reach out to a specific user as an extra measure.

You have been extremely helpful. Thank you. My main concern was that my reputation would be ruined, as that's what another two users told me. I don't want to badger the guy about it, because he's done so much for me during the last year, and I legitimately think he just doesn't understand the repercussions of not providing feedback, and just thinks I'm being antsy about getting feedback for a 5 month old trade. However, since his reputation will take a hit if he doesn't, I'll make sure to bring it up for his sake before it's too late. You've been incredibly helpful - both of you. Thanks.

If people have time to trade, then they should have time to leave feedback, 5 month old trade or not. It's common courtesy to leave feedback and should be required IMO before you can start another trade. It benefits the parties involved and any prospective traders looking at recent trades and a user's trading stats.

    Everything said above is accurate.

To add to what they said (and I will once again sound like a broken record):

Nothing wrong with sending a nudge. I trade very little/rarely now, but in the past when I traded a bunch, it was common for me to wait to leave feedback for a week or 3. The reason was simple, even if not excuseable: I hate leaving feedback from my phone, because if I am on my phone, it’s usually when I don’t have time to really think through what I want to say - including, but not limited to when I am taking a shit. I hate leaving super generic feedback, e.g. “great trader, good communication, A+, trade with confidence, etc.” It’s so stock, and sounds a bit like the title for an Asian Buffet (pull 3 words from a pool of 30, add the word buffet to the end...ala Happy Panda Dragon Buffet, Super #1 King Buffet, etc.).

Thus, I usually try to wait. If I wait too long, I could forget, and a gentle reminder is always nice. A reminder is also nice just to force me to make an effort to do it when around a desktop.
