1st of January is a day off in these parts; so I might as well start early with this delicious Pale ale from Cloudwater courtesy of the great @DoctorZombies.

I didn’t wake up too sick, thankfully as my beer/champagne/wine mix yesterday eve could have triggered quite the hangover.

    Cheers!

I thought you'd started up WBAYDN a bit early but saw @beertunes final post in #2628. #epic :sunglasses:

[IMG] First fresh beer in 2020 and I am feeling better already. Going to check out Rise of Skywalker later with my son and his uncles and cousins. Grabbing Chinese food, should be a great start. Cheers all.

Have a good holiday. Back to the old grind tomorrow, but with a short week. Going to be my best year yet after the shit I went through last year. I already put in over 60 hours of video games the past couple weeks. I played Resident Evil 7 all night. I bought 2 WW1 games called Verdun and Tannenberg off steam for $20 last night. I am amazing at multiplayer for them. Very high K/D ratios consistently. I am playing with a friend over Discord right now. Give me a bolt action rifle and I can slay headshots all day.

Anchorage Revenge. Awesome. Lasting head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honey dew melon, strawberry, red apple, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; creamy/bready/grainy malts, and some sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. No hop astringency. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.4%. Great soft feel and not overly aggressive. Awesome Strata showcase. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Spot on NEDIPA as expected. 4.13

It’s not a 2013 Bourbon County Coffee like my first beer of 2019 was, but this is a fine way to start 2020.

Surly One Man Mosh Pit. Fantastic NEIPA. Very hazy, but not opaque green like the growler I reviewed. Great fluffy head retention/spotty foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-plus body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, minimal lingering hop astringency. Smooth, nicely soft, not overly aggressive. Minimal warming 7.2%, or lingering hop burn. Fantastic Amarillo, Citra, and Mosaic profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. Really outstanding stuff for the style. This was definitely far less turbid/harsh/chalky than the tap review; and more crisp/resiny on hops. Glad I got the pack to compare. 4.2

Happy 2020 ba. Passed out before the stupid ball drop but I'm up and at it with my first beer of the new year. My first go at Oil Of Aphrodite, bba imperial stout w/ walnuts and coffee, from Jacie O's. Big time barrel notes, with a nice and balanced flavor between the coffee and nuts, and smooth as friggan silk. Just crazy good stuff,

Fremont / Mikkeller SD - Operador Suave. Awesome. Lasting head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. No astringent flavors after the finish. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no fruity/yeasty notes. Refreshing, very flavorful and not watery for 5.4%. Not aggressive. Great clean pale malt/grains showcase, with great earthy hop presence/balance for the style. Not overdone on adjuncts. Minimal residual sweetness from crisp dryness. Outstadning style example as expected of both breweries. 4.13
