I've been to plenty of shares with whalz galore, but I have plenty of beers turding up my cellar right now and I'm sure a lot of you do to. So I'm curious, would there be any interest in getting together to share some of these to help everyone clear out their "inventories" for the new year (hell, DECADE!). I'm talking, non-whales or stuff whose "whale card" got pulled a long time ago, lol.

It could be fun to see who pulls the most embarrassing beer out.

Nothing at all planned, but just thinking. Would anyone go to something like this???

inb4 the share consists of all old Bruery bottles. =P

But yeah, depending on location, this would be fun. I know I got a few bottles I am embarrassed are still around and likely well past their drinkability date.

I have been to a couple "Is it infected?" type of shares. Oh man...the burps afterwards are rough. =P

If you want input from flyover country, there's a twist on this we've done.

Three times in the past few years I've hosted a Good, Bad, & Ugly tasting. As in, something good people might not have had before, something bad-ass, & something ugly/old/infected/just plain awful. It's a fun way to break up the turds at my tastings, people got pretty creative with the ugly stuff.

But yeah, always a good idea!

I like it. Stone and FW barrel aged stuff galore. I could finally drink the 2013-2018 Velvet Merkin vertical that is taking up space in my garage fridge. Oh and that 13-15 Abyss vert that I can't give away.

The trick to getting rid of your old cellar crap is to brown bag it. Everyone at a share is excited to try a mystery beer, and sometimes people even like something when they don't know what it is. I usually bring my usual share beers and then throw in 2-3 brown bags at every share. Always great when a known bad beer is well received thanks to going in blind.

I'm in your neighborhood @SoCalBeerIdiot and I'm always up for a share, if the timing works out. Might be able to fill a few seats for you if its local.

Most of my beers on hand are 2019 beers. I do a pretty good job of not accumulating old... I mean "archived", beers. But I do have stuff most of the people I share with have already tried. So they are good candidates.
