Drinking it right now, if you were to only get one or the other Cosmos no question would be my suggestion.

Guess no one here’s doing dry January?

Thought about it but decided to try and build a longer term habit of only Friday Night/Saturday for beer.

Don’t remember who recommended prairie bourbon paradise here, but damn this is good. Dry January lasted 3.5 days. Go Bills!

DDH Small Galaxy is the best beer available, might have to go back for more tomorrow or this week.

I think it was @Xerlic among a few others.

Daydreamless smells fantastic. It has a very typical other half taste, particularly that slight melon they've been extracting from their yeast lately, and body. The finish is extremely dry and has a feint mineral/aspirin like note though.

Yea I really like it, don't get me wrong @rozzom, just liked Cosmos a lot more. This weekend's release was straight bangers, great way to start 2020.

I hesitated between Small Galaxy and Denim Daredevil, but went with the upstate offering. I'm too lazy to look up the Roc IG and read what these beers are - more attracted to the blue tab on the can. Am I making a mistake getting the Roc releases? Are they bringing excess supply down here to move it quicker?

Cosmos is solid. Glad I got it.

Roc releases are good enough to get if you like the specific hops in the beer. CananDANKua was one of my favorite OH beers last year. The chromas aren't quite as great as their BK predecessors (all citra, double mosaic, space diamonds) imo, though still good. I was very pleasantly surprised to see snow shovel stuntz this morning.

Yeah, Quiet Cosmos is really good. Space Diamonds with a little something else, namely Comet?

I dig the roc releases. Small galaxy is prob my favorite of what I’ve had. Misfroots was also quite good.

I've enjoyed the Roc beers. Personally, I don't distinguish the beers based on where they're brewed but instead focus on the ingredients- the hops, the yeast, the lactose, etcetera. So far I think Other Half as a multi-tenant brewery has produced a consistent quality and style (not beer style, but "house style"), and they don't get enough credit or recognition for that frankly.

Still down on their stouts #truefanboytalk.

Friend of mine split cans of new beers with me tonight. Daydreamless is awesome, easy buy recommendation (four pack or growler or draft...just get it and try it and you ought to enjoy it). Anybody do the legwork on the hops and see if this is a unique combo? I'm not a conspiracy theorist about OH formulas, but the hop bill strikes me as very distinct, and I thought the flavor of the beer bore that out.

Quiet Cosmos was, for me, less impressive, but a nice departure from a typical "Other Half" style IPA. Not sure how many times they've used Comet before but very infrequently I'm confident saying. Small Galaxy is the pro move between the two, but they're different beers and if you can get both, do that.

HDHC More Citra is super delicious. Curious how a blind tasting with DDH ACE would shake out. Both are incredible beers.

2020 off to an awesome start, so TL;DR: Other Half is not resting on their laurels, they're bringing us new expressions of their classic formulas, while also continuing to explore new hop combos and brewing methods that are keeping it all fresh and interesting.

On the subject of Roc beers, Denim Daredevil is fantastic. Its has a soft mouthfeel with a very smooth citra hop taste and a pleasant aftertaste. Would recommend!

For some stupid reason I skipped out on Denim Daredevil and Snow Shovel Stuntz. I got flustered when I was ordering and didn’t have time to look them up. Got pretty much everything else though, including a bottle of Deep Orbit whatever pastry stout.

Awesome place, btw. I don’t have time to do a full write up now but wow, that place is dangerously fun. I can see why Kevin went missing. We weren’t there very long but we met some cool people and our little Pomeranian was treated like a celebrity. Highlight of the night goes to watching my wife’s coat and purse get hoisted 9 feet in the air when they opened the garage door for a minute (she had her coat and purse hanging on one of the hinges and when they opened the door all of her shit started lifting into the air). It was pretty funny.

F&F was pretty bomb, too. I wish they had some Sicilian left but I’m just glad we got to have some. Great trip, can’t wait to get back up there. Maybe this spring or summer.

Also, I'm enjoying a Small Galaxy Everything right now. Really really good; easily up there with Green as my favorite straight-Galaxy IPA.

I feel your indecision pain. That’s why I’ve adopted the policy of getting a four pack of pretty much every beer that I think I might like when visiting a brewery far away/one I almost never get to visit.

Glad to hear it was a great trip! It really is an awesome place and you picked a good day for options! There are still like 10-12 cans available to go.

Don't forget that it's the opinion of many (myself included) that OH ipas really peak at 2-3 weeks! They're really good out the gate but become slightly more subtle, in a way that's much more balanced and drinkable with some time. Save a couple for science!

Well that's encouraging to hear. Count me in that camp, too, then because I've had my fair share of Trillium and Tree House IPA's that were a astringently "green" out of the gate but then mellowed out into a nice beer. Thankfully the SGE I just had was not really like that at all for being 3 days old, so this should be good for weeks and weeks to come.

    Ugh, too true.

The funny pathetic part is that I have a whole case of delicious OH beers in my fridge right now. You think that’d be enough. I blew “only” around $140 on the cans+bottle probably another $60 on pours and here my takeaway is “Damn I should’ve got a pack of ____ too!"...FOMO at its finest, I guess (or just lamenting the fact I won’t be back for a long time)

My final takeaway is that never in my life have I been that shithoused at a brewery before. It was by no means intentional but I definitely bit off more than I could chew. My first mistake was having an early lunch so I was pretty hungry when I got there. I was doing full pours in fear of a massive line forming...a line which never really came, so it was all for nothing but pure stupidity. Somewhere in my stupor I thought it'd be a great mission to try to finish the rest of the list. My mindset being: "This is my birthday present after all. Who knows when I'll be back? Let's make it count."

Well I only made it probably not even halfway through the list (untappd counts 7 or 8, the last one being an All Death Everything:confounded:) before I knew it would be best to Uber on back. See? I was very, very responsible about the entire thing. I'm sure I could've kept on going, but I didn't. Because I know it'd probably turn into this
