To bolster the tangential nature of your post, I’ll add that I had what felt like some very fresh lagers at that Christmas tent downtown last week... could have been the pierogi plate I was eating them with, but dayum was that paulaner dunkel the bomb. The Octoberfest wiesen was also really tasty...

Sobo is a cool place. It's just down the way from TRVE and Baere for anyone hitting that combo, too. They carry stuff that nobody else in Denver seems to. For instance, I've never seen draft Czechvar Dark/Tmave anywhere else.

Urquell is a weird beer for me. Sometimes it's absolutely amazing. Other times it's heavy on the diacetyl. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for it, too. It's a crapshoot in bottle, cans, or on tap. It's like that in Europe, too. The unpasteurized one that the WOB locations used to get is the only one I've had that's always great. Supposedly even on their brewery tour the guides waffle when people ask about the random diacetyl. Either way, I like all of the other big (and small) name Czech beers more. Uneticky Pivo might be the best thing the B&B has put on in the last 5 years.

Who distributes? RNDC has always had a big Euro import portfolio, is it them?

No idea, but looks like this group (S&H) is involved and they're based out of downtown Denver: https://www.shbrands.com/weltenburger

Had a mug of Cryptic Message, Cerebral's foeder Schwarzbier, last night. What a fantastic brew! Been loving all their lagers lately, but none more than this one. Heading back to my local this afternoon to continue working on that keg. If we're lucky it'll last through the weekend

Picked up a single of Crooked Stave's Helles. Says on the can it's Munich style. Very, very tasty. Not sure if they've released this before because I'm kinda new here, but it is damn good. Highly recommended.

I'll definitely have to give the CS helles a shot. It's totally new as far as I know. I think they made an oaked helles at one point, but not a normal one.
Von pils is pretty legit (although dry for my tastes), so hopefully this is, too.

Is this a straight Helles or is It the one aged in sherry barrels? Thanks

Straight Helles. I think the only
Straight Helles. Definitely not barrel-aged. It was in 16 oz. 4 packs. White label. Found it at Total Wines last week or so. They were selling singles too. Cheers!

Comrade tapped True Level Pils today. It's an Italian-Style Pilsner, hopped with Saphir and dry-hopped with more Saphir

The Sierra Nevada Skiesta is legit. It might be the best packaged helles (from the US) on our shelves right now. No clue if it's a seasonal, a one-off, or a new year-round, but it's great.

Agreed. I've enjoyed this one a lot and probably have gone through a case by now. I love that it's a TGR collab. Not CO, but we've annexed all things good from WY a la Melvin, right?!?

I think we'd get way more blowback if we tried annexing Sierra Nevada. That'd be a tough sell.

Teton Gravity Research is in Wyoming. We're one state away. Sierra Nevada is in North Carolina. New Belgium and Oskar Blues are also in North Carolina. Um...this is a Bavarian lager. Bierstadt and Prost have equipment from Bavaria. It's in a can. Colorado is where craft beer in cans originated. In conclusion I'm going to declare Sierra Nevada to be one of our own!

And if we're honest with ourselves, there's probably a TON of Californians in Colorado now, so yeah... to your point.

Looking forward to trying some Wibby beers this afternoon at my local taproom here in COS. Never had their lagers before and it looks like the Double Dunkel and the Vienna are going to be in the offing. awesome.

Liked the Vienna Lager quite a bit; still not Cerebral's version (from a Foeder, to be fair).
The Double Dunkel was not quite what I was expecting in a dunkel, an interesting Americanized version that was somewhere between a Dunkel and a watery Stout, but it was tasty. Didn't order a big of it, however. Wibby makes good stuff, look forward to visiting in 2020.
