Happy weekend, advocates. Waiting for a winter storm to hit us and being glad I don’t have anywhere to go for the next two days.

As if I could post something other than this great Canadian band this morning.

I’d recommend some video games and maybe some Japanese wrestling to entertain yourself in the stormy weather.

How about drinking beer and listening to Rush all day?

No video games for this guy. Besides, I don’t want to offend old ghosts.
    Sounds like a plan!

I am a Minnesota Vikings fan today. This requires drinking some special beers from Minnesota, so I went deep into my cellar. I have been saving this beer for the right time, and I believe this is the right time. This beer is absolutely amazing!

Good day BAs! Starting the day off with a beer I first (and last) had at a beerfest back on 10/15/05:

Actually pretty decent for a light (8% ABV) RIS.

Have an enjoyable Saturday. I just hung out at my friends place all night. We played Modern Warfare and Mortal Kombat 11 and just chilled out mostly. I had a couple Stovepipe Lagunitas IPA and Two Hearted I got from Meijers at $2.50 each. Will grab some of those again. Not going anywhere today, already made one beer store stop this week, so I have to budget a bit better this year. It is raining enough to need an amphibious vehicle. Probably going to continue my Twilight Princess quest to get out of the Forest Temple.

The Bruery So Happens It's Tuesday. Been a few years since I had this one. Amazing as expected. Great fluffy head retention/foamy lacing for the ABV. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, molasses, fudge, toffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of smoke, char, coffee, roasted nuts, raisin, prune, fig, date, licorice, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light hop/char bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy/silky/bready malts; light slickness, sticky hops, chalky roast, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Dangerously smooth/soft, Mild increasing warmth of 15%, and lingering barrel booze after the finish. Amazing balance of super rich malts, bourbon barrel presence/integration; solid earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering bitter/tannic dryness. Feels quite a bit less barrel heavy and boozy than the 2015 bottle I reviewed in 2016. Will pick one up again! 4.33

I kinda like the red cans! Also, that Bossa Nova is nice for this Saturday morning.

Omnipollo Hypnopompa. This was fantastic. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, marshmallow, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of raisin, fig, licorice, molasses, smoke, charcoal, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; light slickness, sticky hops, and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering hop/char bitter dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Dangerously smooth/soft sipping, mild increasing warmth of 11%. Fantastic balance of super rich malt complexity, marshmallow, and vanilla flavors; with balancing earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering hop/char bitter dryness. Just as impressive as I remember from the first time I had it.

I've had this a number of times before but it's one of the best goses out there in my opinion. So when I found it in a local supermarket I had to pick up a can. Cheers and have a great weekend everyone!

CBS from the way back machine when the Mountie was still cool. Let's just say this bottle is many years removed from it's prime. Drinkable but there's a noticeable black licorice taste and I'm not the biggest fan of black licorice. An omelet with last nights leftovers should take care of that.
