    NORTHERN LAGER

    Northern Lager is brewed with 100% malted barley and select Maine-grown hops. This crushable session lager takes inspiration from Czech, German, and American techniques and ingredients and showcases locally-grown Sterling hops from the @thehopyard in Gorham. Gold in color with notes of bread crust and fresh cut grass with a crisp and clean finish.

    As a man celebrating a non-milestone birthday this weekend, I can’t think of a couple better beers to have on my radar than this and Notch Kolsch.

    and in fact I had an Oxbow Mirage and Allagash Map 40 and a ribeye at Tuckaway Tavern in Raymond. Delightful

    my only criticism is that it is too good and easy to drink at 7%.

    Haven't been able to get up to Maine recently but noticed they've got a box available for $40 with this year's Native Wild, a new 750 ml called Helix - which is an Oxbow women's brewed beer, and a four of Maine State Lager, along with two 10 oz tulips. Pretty much of a steal...I'm all over it, just hope it lasts until I can get up there!

    fyi thats Hexen not Helix, and its a really nice saison and at $10 for a 750 probably one of Oxbow's cheapest bottle offering recently

    I just bit the "there and back bullet" yesterday but missed this. I stopped by Maine Beer Company to pick up a keg of second dinner and a few other sundries. I avoided looking at any social media because I knew I'd end up finding too many good options to spend more money than I had already done at MBC.

    "Missed this" as in it was sold out or "missed this" as in "Oh, crap I didn't see this was an option?" Very important distinction.

    Okay, so maybe someone more local to that area than I can answer this: Let's say I took the whole team up for a trip. Where along the way back from Portland to Massachusetts would I be able to stop for a (socially responsible) lunch, walk, picnic, adventure? Making this solely about beer is cool and all, but it'd be fun to get everyone out on a field trip. Get out of this house.
