Anyone heard anything recently on the DC brewery? One of the bartenders from NYC moved down there - I thought he said they were goin to open by the end of the year.

I’d jump all over it...2 weeks after the release because that beer would become a dust magnet.

The end of 2020? Someone on Facebook said they already have all the equipment in place but I take everything posted there with a grain of salt. Whatever you hear, add 6 months.

How’s this new batch of DMD? Normally one of my favorites.

Since nobody will step to the plate, I bit the bullet and got a 4-pack this evening. Sipping on it now and while not the same DDH DMD I recall from 2017-2018, it’s definitely a good batch compared to some of the recent misses.

Its got that nice melon scent and fruity pebbles/blueberry taste which I expect will hit it’s peak in a couple weeks. It’s worth a purchase if you’re a fan of DMD and mosaic hops.

I’m still puzzled as to why they can’t replicate the batches from a couple years back...I remember DDH DMD being a WOW beer for me. Perhaps it’s the hop crop which isn’t as good as years past?? Or maybe it’s palate shift...

In any case, looking forward to an HDHC version of this in the near future.

I think in my mind palate shift is almost always the cause for being less impressed unless there has been a major shakeup in location of brewing or personnel. I had some DMD the first time 2 years ago. Then had more NEIPAs, especially other half. Then it wasn't so special tasting. Even when I had other people less invested (read: not making the trek out there from NJ) they were more impressed with SD and ACE and even green power and the 4th anniversary than then the dmd. N=5 though only, so take it for what it's worth.
I guess I would generally state blame nostalgia and how nothing will be as good as you remember or some similar nihilist mantra, but seems dark, as it's almost the weekend, so I'll say, maybe you have a point and it's all the crop, and next year it's going to be an incredible mosaic crop. I mean, global warming is good for hop crops right? RIGHT!?

    Hi all,
Sorry to be that guy - visiting for the first time and just wanted to check, do OH only sell their beers in 4 packs (apart from their stouts)? I can see the prices listed on their site are per 4 pack but not sure whether this means they literally don't sell singles?

    Thanks heaps.

No singles at all. Would definitely be nice, but almost none of the NYC breweries do that. I think it's just KCBC and Threes, but I'm not even sure if Threes sells their own cans in singles, and it might just be all the "guest" stuff.

It has an event page on untappd and lists all the beer there. Just search Pastrytown under venues.
