It is not wax. It is tar that has beer harvested from hell by gods of heavy metal. ... We should all be so lucky to gaze upon it.

Can you just imagine how many bottles would be stolen just on assumption that everyone had that variant

Any update on where the bottle share will be this year since Hampton inn won't allow it?

What? Of course they are trying maximize their profit. They have a premium location for this specific event. Of course it’s going to cost a premium price.

It’s like complaining lake house is more expensive on the July 4th weekend.

There is a difference between raising your price to the max allowed by law, and tacking on an extra unnecessary night in an attempt to get around state law. If they just raised the price for the two nights to $399 and left it at that, we probably would've done it. But to ask for a 3rd night simply to get another $200 out of us, that's some bullshit.

Requiring any number of nights per stay is bullshit.

We're under 4 months until DLD. Is it time to start picking out the outfits yet?

Looks like I might be headed to DLD for the first time in a couple of years. Excited to get back into the chaos.

Sabtos pays by the hour at the no-tell motel.

A lot has changed. Be sure to wear a suit and tie now that the metal has gone mainstream.

Lots of hotels in an area where a big event is occurring will require multiple night stays. This isn’t surprising. Adding a 3rd night does seem over the top, but I’ll use this as my annual reminder to attendees that the 3rd biggest city in the country is quite close by, with many shuttles provided to get to the festival. You can pay a cheaper price at a VRBO in the city, get on a shuttle and have the ability to experience Chicago instead of Munster or Hammond. Tough choice for sure.

Gary, IN is the third biggest city?

I don’t know if I’m going this year, but 40,000 Marriott points have reserved me 4 beds and 2 pullout couches, just for Saturday night at the spring hill suites. I feel great about it!

Yeah, valid points. However, for my group, we all have (and do) spend plenty of time in Chicago. Staying at the Springhill Suites on Fri/Sat was not only fun, but also SUPER convenient. Walked our bottles back after our respective pick ups, went back during the 6 tornadoes to dry out and chill, then headed back after the storm. We had a suite so there was plenty of room to souvee meat all weekend in the bathroom.

I sort of wish that last part wasn't true. But alas, it was quite real.

Not sure we'll be there again this year with all these requirements, but the VRBO in Chi and shuttle may have to be an option...

I hope they bring back Power Trip. That sucked they had to cancel.
