Haven't heard much from NW lately but this weekend is their 5 year anniversary and some of the releases sound good: 2 different BA (a barleywine and an imperial coffee stout), 2 new haze, 1 of which is a 10% Imperial NEIPA (Fluffy Gummy), and a blueberry lemon sour

Let me bump this thread with a BIG question thats been eating at my existence the past year or 2....

Hopefully someone from NWB can chime in, or a regular beer drinking knows... but:

What happened to the original FaceSmack berliner weisse NWB came out with? I understand they have the Fruited FaceSmack (forget if its peach or what)... but I’m talking the OG FaceSmack!

That original Facesmack was NOT ONLY the best berliner I’ve had, it was the BEST DAMN BEER PERIOD.

I don’t mind the fruited version from time to time, but the original FaceSmack id buy Over and over again!

Anybody have any idea if the OG is coming back? If so ill stock up as much as my wallet can handle!!

Ya'll gotta get on this Papaya Gummy, so dang good.

AND doesn't have lactose (or maybe an insignificant amount). I based this on my butt and not farting compared to Hop Butcher. HB gives me bubble gut.

Agree, this might be the best haze I've had from them. I think the Papaya gives it a perfect amount of sweetness and meshes perfect with the base.

Speaking of papaya, and Hop Butcher - One of their original batches before they started adding lactose to everything (I think it was Smoke Filled Room) had papaya added, and it was fantastic. One of my favorite HB beers I've ever tasted. It started turning chunky after about 2 weeks, but it was great until then.

I no longer purchase Hop Butcher due to all the lactose :slight_frown:

Noon Whistle and Old Nation are the hazies I go for now.

I'm not really into sours but the Jam Stand Blackberry Raspberry is pretty dang good; tastes like sangria.

Old Irving and Riverlands lately for me. Although that Papaya Vortex was killer.

The peanut caramel stout was good if you like a ton of salty peanut flavor, wasn't really my thing. Hop Prism Blue was delicious. Crisp old school ipa.

Agreed. I've had 2 cans and they've both tasted like bland, generic, new school hops. Really harsh, aggressive carbonation as well, like an overly fizzy soda. Ugh, I'm probably batting .200 on my last couple months of IPAs.

Thanks for the heads up. Gummypocalypse is usually a safe bet.

There may be a good reason for this. Anyone know where Noon Whistle's previous head brewer went?

Anyone been to the taproom yet? Looked pretty cool from the pictures that were being posted.

Going to be a bit before I get in there...

It's pretty sweet, so spacious and a good amount of TVs.

Wish I could've tried the pinball machines, but COVID...
