Has anyone noticed their IPAs have lacked body recently? (Last few months). I don’t live yo their obviously but I’ve had some friends send me stuff or share and I’ve had 5 or 6 different IPAs that haven’t had the body I normally expect

Another beer for Saturday's release at 10am. Thanks to @loudoesbeer for bringing this one back for science! ⠀
    ⠀
El Camino Misfires Berliner Weisse (3.8%) with Coffee, Vanilla and Raspberry. We brewed this beer with a ton of raspberry and finished it off with @hoofheartedbrewing coffee and Tahitian vanilla. $20 per four pack, 1 case per person.⠀

This is not a throwback, this is happening!!! El Camino misfires will always hold a special place in my heart. It was one of those beers that I said you’re just gonna have to trust me and try it when it comes out. While I missed the release, I did have it on tap and it did not disappoint. Perfectly balanced fruit flavors with slight coffee and vanilla. Thanks to some good friends of mine I was able to get a bottle. Me being me I just never got around to drinking it. Since I know this beer was fire fresh, I can’t wait to see how this beer ages! Now I can do my science thing! Thanks Other Half for bringing this back! ⠀

Yo I LOVED this beer, I had a few cans sent to me when it first came out.
It was brewed in OR originally.

Interesting possibilities here. Weird to see berry berry as that was a real recent release, excited to see if my thoughts of how weird el camino smelled but how good it tasted hold up in 2020. I bought 1 or 2 of each Cane Life and I really didn't overly enjoy many of them at the time, curious to see what they could be like now.

after rereading @RobNewton post while not on a conf call, I see a few of those possibilities are from not too long ago. Hoping we get some additional stuff that's older too

Also are we still all meeting Friday at Grand Delancey?

Can newbies (to the mid-atlantic at least) show up for this (if not named on the spreadsheet)?

If so, will I be expected to pass some sort of tose initiation/haze’ing?

I was off the forums for a few weeks and didn't catch the meetup, but if we're getting started this early I can probably swing by for a bit.

    Up next for Saturday's release:

! (8.3%) brewed with Nelson Sauvin, Wai-iti and Topaz hops. This beer was originally brewed for @missiondoloresbar 6th anniversary. It's a NZ hop juice bomb. $18 per 4 pack, four 4-packs per person.

Thanks to @yankeerunner77 for the assist on this one #tekugamestrong:

To say that I am honored to be part of @OtherHalfNYC #FanFam is an understatement. This beer was released in 2016 when @missiondoloresbar had their own 6th year anniversary. This is an Imperial IPA with Nelson Sauvin, Wai-iti & Topaz that clocks in at 8.3% and the lime zest and stone fruit flavors do not disappoint. I'm a big fan of New Zealand hops and I remember how excited I was when they used Wai-iti in this beer back then.

Sipping on this beer reminds me of all the amazing moments and memories I've had at OH for the past 6 years. It was amazing to witness this brewery grow from a small tap room to the awesome space we've all grown to love. I'm thankful for the amazing friends I've made here and the hard working staff. Their passion for the craft inspired me to take the step to work at a brewery. My fondest memory, and I will be FOREVER thankful and honored, is when OH offered to host Melesa's Wings in 2019. We raised close to $8000 for Memorial Sloan Kettering and St. Jude's and it's all thanks to their support. They will forever be one reason that I continue to learn, love and respect the craft beer world. I am looking forward to seeing you all at PastryTown in March. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet... What are you waiting for?

A lot of melon on Oat Overdose, most in a while. Pick this up if you're enjoying that taste

While I've seen most of them in line and chatted with a few, I don't really understand why OH caters to the mules with the #FanFam stuff.

Easy, they distro OH beer via online sales (MBC, Fbook groups, etc) and help move OH beer every week. It works out REALLY perfectly. Someone else can get 7 to 9 a can and nobody will get the pitchforks out for OH.

Its pretty good. It doesnt taste nearly as hopped as everything now but is smooth and drinkable.

That's the answer really. I mean they're already shipping to Maryland and ROC and haymaker (plus they sent a recent crunchee out to multiple places) and there's stuff that hangs around a bit. Imagine no mules. They might have to actually distribute more regularly in NYC, and then you're not getting your $4.50/$5 per can. They are a amazing quality brewery (for DIPAs definitely and most TIPAs, mediocre otherwise for sours and diabeetus stouts insofar as there is superior or equivalent stuff sitting on shelves in those styles) but nobody is moving stuff like they used to. Free advertising from these Instagram people that win the lotto and commit petty larceny and those mules cut a LOT of cost. I'm not business savy enough to say how much, but considering their push to avoid private equity/outside investors it's the compromise they're making. The expansion into DC and the new Brooklyn site means more debt so I don't see this trend changing, especially as the market becomes more oversaturated with NEIPAs, beetus stouts, and fruited "sours."
