Go to a 450 North beer release and you'll find a bunch of neckbeards rolling their cans of Slushy much in the same way.

The boss pour culture has led to a generation of drinkers who think the perfect pour is to the rim of the glass with zero foam head.

When I post pictures of beers I have poured half the comments each time are

    "You pour like shit"
    "Too much head"
"Looks good, too much foam Bru"

I usually tilt my glass 32.670°, but nevermore than 47.86° and pour it in. Lifes to short to twirl my glass around! ☻

"Hey, dudes, don't think of it as "head" or "foam" - that's OG Haze!"

PROPER POURING 'cause "good taste never goes out of style".

Forgot to mention, there is a fourth category of beer drinkers. Those who drink the sedement in a separatly shot glass. Some Belgian brewers, like Hopus for instance have brand shot glasses available.

(inserting a pic just wont work, sorry)

Flip the Guinness bottoms up and hard pour.

The brewery got a lot of press/buzz by posting a pouring methodology. Whether it’s real or not, people are talking about their company.

In any event, cheers my BA brutha!

So I got home from work and popped a beer, chose the glass because it holds a whole 16 oz can. Snapped the pick.. Am I doing something wrong

Within two minutes I got this comment.

"You can't pour for shit... don't say that's how it's meant to be"

Aside from their poor English I asked how it was supposed to be and got no response.

I believe @LeperJim has some experience with the imgur boss pour community :stuck_out_tongue: These are a special kind of people.

Dude, I hear if you tilt the internet to 45 degrees, all the a-holes settle in one corner - you seem to have found them.

Once again - never try to fit in with the mean girls.

Isn't that Diageo's suggested method for pouring the nitrogenized/widget-less bottled Guinness Draught? That's sure not "original" Guinness.

It does not matter how you pour your beer. It only matters that you pour it into the proper glassware!!

Guinness recommends: open the can, wait a few seconds, 45° pour.

Do they even sell the nitro bottles anymore? They aren't on the website.

Yeah, I was thinking the nitro bottles w/o widget - which some brewers recommend a "hard pour" - but apparently not Diageo. For awhile the bottles' label recommend to only drink from the bottle (even their neons!), and not pour it at all.

But my main point was seemingly calling the Draught (nitrogenized) Guinness "original". It's not (packaged in cans, it's a product of the 1980s or so for the US market) and, to add to the confusion in the UK, at least, there is a Guinness stout labeled "Guinness Original".

No kiddin'? Damn, didn't notice that. Yeah, Guinness has a different website for every major nation they export to (if you set your browser to "Private" or maybe just turn off cookies you can sometimes see other countries by using different language/country abbreviation in the URL from "en-us").

And sometimes they screw up. A lot of times, in fact. One time, years ago, they listed Guinness Foreign Extra Stout under the US - we hadn't seen it in decades. I called them up and they admitted it was wrong. Then, about a year later, they did start shipping it here again. They have also at times claimed "All Guinness sold in the US is brewed at St. James Gate in Dublin, Ireland" in their US FAQ even while the Guinness Extra Stout sold here was being brewed under license by Moosehead and/or Labatt and with labels that clearly stated "Brewed in Canada".

OK, so not Guinness Blonde.

i am surprised by how many people decant. no judgement. i like to roll my yeast forward beer bottles/cans and sometimes rock back and forth in a horizontal position(imagine a bottle at sea) slowly and carefully. ive had too many berlinner and gose(especially the fruited) style beers having pure trub in the bottom 4-6 ounces. sometimes i do not agitate my bottles because that last pour of saison brett by boulevard comes out to be like a hazy brett ipa when its v fresh. also the last pour of saison dupont on its own is beautiful. sames with cuvee des jonquilles, les vermontois, etc.

These “people” are the dregs of craft beer culture and know fuck all about anything beer related, least of all how to properly pour one.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
On the Canadian website they show a nitro bottled Guinness Smooth with “millions of minute swirling bubbles”, but it's not available in the US.

In cases where there is no need to decant I pour the entire contents into an over-sized mug at a strength that causes the carbonation to release a finger sized head. I do this for consistency, I can judge the initial release of co2 and how well it remains active throughout the drink.
I rarely do one-offs so I can gage a Beers co2 and such.

In cases where there is sediment, I decant and observe the Beer in It's clearest form and then pour in the dregs, cuz I paid for that sh.....

    Cheers.

I stopped using imgur after being condemned as pretentious for using stemmed glassware to serve my beer. It was a new Belgium globe with a barleywine. Wine is in the damned name.
