Below is a link to an article about a brewery in Florida that puts the pictures of shelter dogs on their cans in an effort to get them adopted. I love this initiative. Collective Arts Brewing in Ontario helps promote the work of musicians and the artists who provide their can art. What are some other examples of breweries that take that extra step to help?

Anheuser-Busch has famously donated water to victims of natural disasters for over 30 years.

MillerCoors has received a perfect score of 100 for 16 consecutive years on the 2019 Corporate Equality Index administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation regarding LGBTQ workplace equality, and was name Corporation of the Year in 2015 by the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

    Do those count?

They hire their trainers for commercial shoots (and sometimes pilot helicopters packed with them).

The Iron Hill Brewing chain is letting Homebrew winners brew their beer at their facilities and donating $1 per each beer sold to Penn States THON fundraiser. They are also serving a few special food dishes for the occasion and donating 100% of those proceeds.

I think more breweries have charity events that what we might think. A national event is the one where many breweries support prostate health and randomly cap their bottled beers with the Pints for Prostates graphic on the cap.

Each of the three breweries that are near me have various events throughout the year. Bell's and Territorial each sponsor a running event for charity where the pub is the starting and finishing line is one example. Territorial is also involved with the Toys for Tots program, and they had 5 Marines in full dress blues at their pub for a day last year and offered a discount if you brought a toy for the collection box. Dark Horse has numerous fund-raising events that support local groups of various kinds. I think it's the entrance fee for these events that goes to the charity.

Fat Head's supports at least 5 or 6 different local, community oriented charities/non profits here in the Cleveland area.

This may be pretty common, but, Old Nation has one tap handle where a portion of proceeds goes to charity. The beer rotates through flagships and special releases. They also donate the proceeds of ticket sales for limited brewery release beers.

    No.
    (S) Everyone knows big beer is soulless and only does those things for the publicity and PR, while craft brewers are altruistic, don't care about good publicity, and are acting solely out of the kindness of their hearts. (/S)

If I may speak well about a certain local brewery of mine:

    https://www.bbaybrewery.com/donationrequest

This is on top of the basic things the brewery donates to on the regular. And donating space and employee time to an uncountable amount of on-site fund-raisers and events: for example; every Tuesday afternoon in the beer garden: http://www.outoftheashes.us/

    So much more.

A lot of the other breweries in town give til it hurts as well, and I'm not at all negating the work of Chuckanut, Aslan, Kulshan, Stones Throw, and the rest. I'm just very familiar with the efforts this one brewery puts in to our community.

I am certain that, wherever you are in this modern America, your local brewery is doing equally great work. Which means, if you buy their beer, or food, you are an awesome contributor as well!

YAY You!!!! Way to pitch in! On behalf of your locals, Thank you. We appreciate it!

Sierra Nevada Resilience raised millions of dollars for California fire relief.* I saw on social media another Resilience beer campaign has started for Australia's bushfires.

    * - @SierraTerence Did Sierra Nevada collect all of the promised relief funds from the participating brewers? Last I heard in the middle of last year was of the $15M promised they were ~$7M short. But maybe I missed an announcement.

Since 2012 Weyerbacher's has donated the proceeds from their Last Chance IPA to local animal rescues. They choose a different rescue each month.

    Ranbot,

Last I heard, we raised $9M+, which was less than originally estimated, but still an amazing amount of money. Some of the difference in the "promised" were the assumptions that everyone would sell 100% of what they made as well as losses during production.

I know some of my local guys collect pints for vets and try and support local growers by purchasing their goods, etc. I think a lot of the breweries are doing a lot of good for their local communities, more than most of us know I would presume.
