Does anyone have pictures of this? Or know if it has a particular name? I just want to know more about it. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, when they uncork a bottle for you, they lay it at a 45 degree angle in a 2-foot-long (?) contraption, effortlessly pull a lever, and the cork is removed. It's not really a bottle opener, it must be some kind of table-top corkscrew, but it's huge and impressive, and someone must know more about it or have taken a picture or etc.
It's a counter-mounted corkscrew, in French it's called a tire-bouchon de comptoir. An easy way to open a bottle at the angle it sits in the serving basket, without disturbing the sediment. Also a quick time saver in a busy taproom or café. More .info
I think it’s just an old example of what’s fairly common equipment in restaurants and cafes in these parts for opening wine bottles. You can probably get one from a resto equipment supplier.
