I didn't even realize people still talked about Victory. Thought they were old news.

They’re “old news” AND we’re still talking about them.

As I mentioned in another thread in Beer News & Releases, IMO some positive news, especially concerning some of the legacy seasonal and speciality beers that were previously brewed in Downingtown have begun to be brewed again at the D'town brewery. It must be remembered that until recently (past six months) brewing operations at D'town have been essentially terminated for a period of almost two years. Now with brewing started again, a hoppy, tasty version of Storm King was just released a week ago. Unfortunately, it's only available on draft right now. But that situation may soon change! Apparently, with the acquisition of Sixpoint, the current canning line at the Parkesburg facity is undersized to handle both Victory and Sixpoint packaging demands. So, a new, higher capacity unit will soon be installed and the existing canning line will be reinstalled at the D'town brewery. So there is the real likelihood canning some of the "oldie but goodie" Victory brews may be happening in the not too distant future. This would be a very welcomed situation for some us like my self who has been a patron since day one. And the prospect of canning my Braumeister Pils would be "icing on the cake.!

As a brut IPA guy (one of, like, 14 in the country) I thought Fizzy Bizzness was great. Prima was better before the reformulation but it's still a good pils at $10 a 6-pack in NY.

Would love to grab some Dirt Wolf or try the new Hop Wallop but haven't found them anywhere near fresh when I've looked.

This would be awesome, is it something that is possible or just wishful thinking for now?

It's probably more wishful thinking on my part, but the ideal hop for both taste and aroma would be tetnanger grown on a hop farm in Tenang Germany where Victory has had a contract for almost 15 years. It's affectionately known as Tet-Tet Braumeister Pils!

In the past Victory used to produce a 'family' of Braumeister Pilsners featuring differing hops (e.g., Spalt, Sladek, Saaz, etc.). Is this practice a thing of the past? Are present day Braumeister Pilsners solely brewed with the aforementioned Tettnang Tettnanger hops?

    Cheers!

Not a fan of Fizzy Bizzness but I never found a brut I liked.

My brother actually gave me a can of Fizzy after he picked up a pack and drank one on the ride home. I asked him what he thought of it and he said nothing and told me to drink it. So I did and I told him it sucked and we both laughed about how bad it was.

Right, but that's not "that beer sucks," that's "I don't like this style and this beer didn't change my mind." Those things are absolutely not the same.

That is some positive news. It was sad that in less than 20 years, Storm King went from being the #1 ranked beer on BeerAdvocate to not even being brewed. I hope it gets packaged again.

Was not a fan of the new 2019 Prima Pils. It had some off flavors, and tasted underattenuated. Couldn't get through the six pack.

Honestly I had no idea it was a Brut and went into it with a lot of optimism. It's just a bad beer. If you want to act sophisticated and claim a love for brut go ahead but that beer was trash.

This is the label, yet, somehow, you went into it not knowing what it was? Interesting.

I’ve enjoyed most of the Brut ipas I’ve had but thought this was a terrible beer. I remember thinking it was a buttery mess with no hop flavor. Worse victory experience I’ve had usually a reliable brewery for me that’s always at least solid.

I'm sure I"m yelling at clouds, but I really hope Victory starts using Downingtown to brew and locally distribute some of the oldies but goodies. Best German brewery around, they used to be... with a lot of great non-German beers too! Sigh, I'll keep waiting, but I really want the Old Victory back.
