I don't know how many folks have tried this one yet, but try it! I had my doubts at first but I will tell you- it's fantastic. Sam Adams Iced Coffee Blonde. It's actually more like diner coffee with light cream and sugar!

Foley Brothers Prospect. Very tasty but looks like shit. Unfortunately I can't find a date on can which is normally a deal breaker for me but it was slim pickings where I stopped on my way back from auto parts store.

Did an IP trade earlier today with @77apm and this was one of the awesome extras he included..

    He was right! Very Julius-esque.

    Cheers, BAs!

    look: 4.25 | smell: 3.25 | taste: 4 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4

Cloudy, pale, dirty yellow body with a thick and frothy white head, creamy and lasting; strings of lacing stick to the glass. Over-ripe veggies and fruit is the immediate smell; dank and rank; gets a bit better as the beer opens up; more like old citrus. Intense hop bitterness dominates the taste; some powdered sugar and grapefruit rind. Heavy body; a bit of coarseness yet mostly velvety; a tad juicy but mostly dry throughout.

The appearance, taste, and mouthfeel do a lot to overcome a rather off-putting aroma. And therein lies the beauty of the depth and breadth of beer. Overall, this is a satisfying cloudy DIPA.

It’s now confirmed that his 13 year old daughter Gianna was with him.

    Unbelievably tragic.

I'll toast this one to a man whose drive allowed him to achieve levels of greatness that few will ever attain...and a girl who had her whole life ahead of her.

Second pour of the day (well third, not counting breakfast), again from Alementary Brewing Company. #Islandlife: a really solid, well craft Gose. Still by the fire, still chillin' and thinking of someplace warmer:

Yes, what I'm seeing now is Kobe, his daughter, a teammate of hers, another parent and the pilot. Tragic. Let's not forget the people who aren't celebrities. They had people who cared about them, too. Deeply.

    RIP...

If that beer is even remotely on the same page as Tree House Julius, then I will drink Bud Light for the rest of my days. I am glad you said IMO because that puts it in full context. I think a lot of us opine sometimes just to be different. I was at Fox Farm when they opened, and up until I left CT, I continued giving them chances. They are not special, and for damn sure nowhere near in the same conversation as Tree House. It's like comparing a Lambo to a Gremlin, you dig? Again, I love you, but I will be outspoken today.

Truthfully, I'm on Dad Duty, hence the quick post.

Untied Brewing's Decadent Darkness, an Imperial Milk Stout. Too much Cherry Coke flavor for my taste. I just reviewed it on the NBS site but at 14% ABV I'm not finishing the glass - let alone the bottle.
