I'm drinking a Highlands Pilsner.The more I drink it, the better it gets!

 

So, maybe that is where my beer money came from ! Lost some today tho.

Tell her that wherever the wedding is it is a destination and that it and of itself is not all that important. It is not the destination but the journey both before and after that are important. Then duck !!

Although I haven't been to Zebulon yet....
I thought the best brewery in NC is The Wedge? To each their own.

Had to move this as @vabeerguy did not see it in the thread on craft beer & music - it was probably due to white wine again.

 

Good advice, but too late! I have been married for well over a decade. I'd be dead by now if I was still single probably. And yeah, she got a nicer venue than the standard firehall wedding reception common around here.

My nephew is getting married It is at a destination, so travel plus hotels plus wedding presents plus... ain't gonna be nothin' left for any sort of countertop!

Pours a thick pitch black. 2 1/2 finger brown head. The head retention is amazing for such a high ABV beer. Some lacing on the glass.
The nose is a bight lighter than I was expecting. I do get a sweet aroma from the malts. Some chocolate. A hint of smoke from the malts.
Taste - A lot stronger than the nose suggested. Smoke flavor hits me first. Chocolate is next up, with a sweetness to it. Some vanilla.
The body is thick and full. Not much of a boozy flavor to it, but you know it;s higher ABV.
Solid Imperial Stout, and I'm glad to have a chance to try it.

 

My last beer of the night, as I have work tomorrow and I am getting sleepy.
But man, what a delicious beer Resin is. I forgot how good this beer is! I don't often buy D/TIPAs over 9%, but I would happily buy a six pack of this. The hop aromas and flavors are stupid good and it drinks incredibly easy despite how noticeable the alcohol is. It tastes like grapefruit puree and whiskey with just enough pine to scrub the palate clean of any residual heat or sweetness.

 

Far from the prettiest lager, but damn if this OEC Pilsener doesn't check all the other boxes...crisp and refined body with tons of profile complexity. Cheers, BAs!

 

Left Hand Saison au Genievre, this sucker has been hiding the beer fridge to a while.

Feeling lucky today. I was driving into work on the same road I've used for months & all the sudden I come up a hill,the sun freaking blinds me. I had sunglasses on but they did no good that I can tell. I have a car right on my ass, but I take my foot off the gas any way, I look up, down right & left & I still can't see shit. About 8-10 seconds later my vision recovers, I am halfway in the oncoming lane & probably have been for a few seconds. Thank GOd people got of my way or no one is coming. I have no clue. Might have to go back to the old route even though it is 5 minutes slower...
