I'm excluding the backstage series from this even though every one of them has been amazing (to me at least, I'm aware of the hate FMB receives) as well as KBS.

For the longest time, Breakfast Stout was my favorite. Recently however, it just hasn't tasted the same. Just something lacking. I've now moved on to another love; Founders Imperial Stout. Every time I have one, I love it even more. It's everything a stout should be. So, it's got me wondering...

What are all of your favorite beers from Founders and why?

please revisit this post in January when you have fresh FIS and let us know if your thoughts change on that beer as well. You are not the first person I've heard make similar claims.

Always good to hear their IS get some love, it's been my favorite "normal" IS for a while now.

I'm never sure with this brewery as I enjoy a lot of their beer but there's always one I won't like at all. I'd give it a 1 bad on every 3 beers.

    Some that i've disliked.

    curmudgeon
    FMB
    Cerise
    Blushing monk
    Devil dancer

    Love

    Curmudgeons better half
    breakfast stout
    reds rye
    double trouble

I've had it fresh. Definitely recall it being more boozy, but not sure if now was d/t changes in palate

FBS solidified my initiation into Craft Beer. Never tasted anything like that before. Never have less than 12 in the fridge.

My thoughts on Founders is that it's a mighty fine brewery (despite being from Michigan) but their fanboys give me a pain in my neck.

To clarify, I've heard several people mention that recent batches of a given founders beer are not as good as the previous year. as you stated "Recently however, it just hasn't tasted the same." I'm curious if you notice a similar difference in FIS when it is brewed next.

Quite understandable. Out of all the breweries, I will say founders is the one I've never had anything I dislike though

Founders is one of the great breweries. It's easier for me to name the beers I'm not a fan of like Cerise and Old Curmudgeon. Everything else is good/great. My faves are Red's Rye PA and Porter.

Founders = quality across the board. They seem to do everything well and when it comes to barrel-aging, very few breweries (if any) do it better. Their Porter, Red's Rye PA, and Centennial are outstanding year-around beers. FBS is one of my favorite seasonals and their Imperial Stout is simply to die for. Let's not even get started on KBS.

I wonder if they have ever considered trying their hand at a few sours?

They are a great brewery that generally makes very good-to-excellent beer. That about sums it up for me.

    My list would be similar.

The Pale Ale is only OK. The Boltcutter was well made but didn't do anything for me.

Like All Day IPA a lot.

Edit - they make a taproom only Black IPA that is one of the best I've had.

There hasn't been beer from Founders I didn't think was delicious aside from Curmudgeon, which was still good. I love Cerise and Devil Dancer as well contrary to popular opinion of those beers being just average.
