Weather looks amazing for the event Sunday. Be safe everyone. Please take an Uber or something similar home - walking out of the release this past Saturday and saw a few folks who should not have been driving themselves home at 2:30 in the afternoon.

Also, please EAT SOMETHING while you are there. The average 2 oz pour of BW or Stout is about 70-90 calories. This will likely make you not hungry - eat something anyways.

Not like this will stop anyone but just did a little math - assuming you're drinking maybe 25 2 oz samples over a 4-hour period (one pour every 10 minutes, which yes, is a bit conservative), that's about 2000-2500 calories right there in your gut, before the Super Bowl even starts. Counteract that gut punch and be responsible and drink a lot of water!

Gitty with excitement! Most excited for TO ADWTD, Monster Tones, and HoG. I don’t think there is a clunker among those choices. Also excited for any surprises the Side Project gang has in store. This just became super real for me. Starting freak out mode....now.

Probably my top 3 from the list released I want to try.

I’ve had HOG and Monster Tones and both are really good.

Several on that list are making their debuts and not even sure what some are. Not had a stout from SARA so pumped to try those. The Monkish stout at the brewery anny was a huge surprise for me that day so curious to see what the beer is they’ve sent. Not had a Term Oil from TG either...

it was brewed back in June 2018 with Cory when the SP crew came out for Firestone.

 

Monster tones is fantastic. I always chase a couple a bottles of it each year.

Excited to try the Broward county coffee.

I wonder if this Razzmatazz was BA in one of cory’s barrels?

BA snowbirds is OHs best stout. It’s a banger.

Im pumped to try Maman 19.

 

Term Oil is great. I actually like it significantly more than Assassin personally.

 

I’m pretty ignorant on TG stouts. Seems like Term Oil is a pretty broad spectrum of different stouts from them.

This one is 19C. Have you had it? Do you know the difference in batches?

 

Rumor is they are individual barrels which are eventually used to blend for Assassin. So think of it as a 'single barrel' variation. I've had a number of them. Some are great, and some are only good. I've never had a bad one though except for some with additives (peppermint Term Oil wasn't particularly good).

 

And unless there is included in it a description of added flavors, (there is not for this one) it has no adjuncts. So yeah, basically SB Assassin as I understand it. Unless TG locals have more information, they've been historically pretty tight-lipped about it, except that it would seem the number indicates the year.

 

3 sons coffee stout is just outside my 3 top picks. Term Oils can be a little hit or miss. none of them are terrible but i’ve had one or 2 that are as good or better than assassin. i’ve not had 19C though.

 

Also want to try Maman to decide if I want to keep my bottle or trade it. 2017 Maman was incredible. Last year’s was a let down for me. Hoping this year is closer to 17.

 

interesting, i’ve had bottles of 18 that i thought were as good or better than 17. i’ve also had “off” bottles of both years.

 

Do you guys know of any places I can buy a bottle shipper around the St Louis area? Looking to bring back more than will fit in my luggage and figure I’ll just ship some home.

 

TWCP tweets out every so often saying they are giving away styrofoam shippers. you could stop in and ask if they have any. that’s not a very full proof plan but possibly worth a shot.

Fun fact, every brewery is bringing a beer that has a HIGHER rating than their brewery rating. Side Project is pushing brewers to bring their best.

did anyone else notice that the IG post states that Floyds is bringing Bourbon Barrel-Aged DL FVM? either this is a brand new DL FVM variant exclusive to this event (highly unlikely) or that is an odd but significant oversight..
