SAVAGES (v2) Hints/Hauls

Damn! I got hit. Saw the mailman drop off a box just a little while ago. Picking it up off the porch gave me a clue as to its contents as did the name John Parrack. I thought I think I know that fu**er.

Anyway, there are so many brews that it will take me awhile to provide a detail report of the damage. Probably tomorrow. Until then all I can say is thank you @r0rschach for your generosity and good taste in beer.

Not one to wait around, I dove into this 16oz gold-topped banger. Ted is bringing his Savage game on this 1980 release. Zeeee Wangooo. Zeeee Tangoooo. I pulled a blind chugs and was a tad bit disappointed because it was immediately apparent that this was a tasty IPA. I’d guess that magic mix of simcoe/mosaic/citra but not a master.
Anyway, @r0rschach , Thanks for the great box and BIF love.

 

Blind beer #1 from @bl00! Boozy, sticky, like 120 but with more hoppines. No idea but I think if this is my first beer of the night I'm in trouble.

And Blind Beer #2! The foil came off the cap, and as soon as I poured it, I knew it was either WWS or Vanilla WWS. @bl00 doesn't know it but he's giving me the excuse I needed so that that I don't have to go to my niece's 9 am bball game in the morning! Cheers man, thanks again!

In my goal to get to that Upside DownCake, I am plowing through this mystery beer from @Victory_Sabre1973:

Definitely a double IPA. Nice hop bite of this. Not really a hazy or a straight WC, almost like a cross between them. Super dry finish, which I love. I am the worst at guessing individual hops, so I won't embarrass myself, but this is very nice and enjoyable. Thanks James!

Blind beer from @Buck89. Nice simple, smooth, easy-drinking sour. Some sort of tropical fruit in there. Maybe guava? It's not a fruit bomb, though. It's well-balanced and delicate. Definitely an enjoyable beer.



Passion fruit, pineapple and mango sour. At least I knew it was tropical! Thanks @Buck89!

Time for my blind beer courtesy of @JFreres

Pours light amber in color...kinda like pee when you’re dehydrated.
Nose is stale malt, corn, a brewery after a brew day.
Mouthfeel is a bit slick, lots of carb like seltzer.
Taste surprisingly light and refreshing. Think flavored water or diluted iced tea.

No idea, especially thinking of Midwest options from a 12 oz can...would guess a Pilsner past it’s prime or maybe a kolsch or light lager

If I remember correctly, I believe the date on the bottom of the can was Nov 2009, so it's "aged" Bud Light, not just plan old everyday Bud Light. Cheers!

Now I have a Machine Gun Ho-Ho-Ho. A stout brewed by

Burt Macklin. A TIPA brewed by Turning Point.
Demonic Alien Containment Box. A stout brewed by Turning Point.
Mystery Beer.
Smoke in the Water. A stout brewed by Intrinsic.
Member Beer #1 Secret. A stout brewed by Turning Point.
Gold Leaf. A stout brewed by Celestial.
Anatomic Palace. A TIPA brewed by Celestial.

One fallen trooper took the hit so that others could move on. Cocoa Bueno. A stout brewed by Community. Maybe the hot sauces can revive him but I think he has lost too much beer.

I mentioned there was a mystery beer. Had no label. Of course I had to open it first. Taste like a sour but only @r0rschach can solve he mystery.
