It's Pliny, not Pliney.

Where do you live? Here in North OC it sits for a few days now, but no where near a week, let alone a month. That’s a shame!

I happen to agree with you, it drives me crazy, but it is weird that we all (including RR) have decided that mispronouncing it is ok, but misspelling it isn't.

Interest in determining dominant pronunciation trends geographically and over time of long dead languages has always been an interest of beer lovers. Where have you been, man?

"Pliny"? That beer is pretty expensive and not available in most of the US, right?

It's not like the beers from Anheiser-Bush, esp. Budwiser and Bud Lite. Lots of people like New Castle Brown Ale but it's now made by Lagunatus, in California - ironically, the same state where the first craft brewery, Anchor Steam, is located. Anchor Steam is now owned by a Japanese brewing company, Soporro, which is not the same Japanese brewer that owns the Fat Tire Brewing Co. (aka "New Belgian Brewing Co.") That's Kirin, which also owns a portion of Brooklin Brewery (where Garrett Morris is the brewmaster). The 3rd big Japan-based brewing company is Ashai, they even own the Czechoslovakian brewery, Pilsener Urkell. Funny thing is, in the US, a lot of the Ashai beer is brewed in Canada by Molsen. The other big brewer in Canada, of course, is La Batt which brews some Guiness Stout that is sold in the US. Some Guiness used to be brewed up there by Moose Head, which also used to brew some Red Strip, but now that that Jamacan beer is owned by Heinekin, that's no longer the case, ect.

Me? I grew up drinking Ballentine Ale.

The mispronunciation by beer folks, including Russian River, is maddening (i.e. it should be like tin).

    While we're here, it's Jack's Abby, not Jack's Abbey nor Jack Abbey's.

100 miles south of RR in Silicon Valley and I do not exaggerate. Blind Pig is readily available as well. I do not see as much on the shelves so either it's more popular or less is distributed.

I'm out in LA a few times a year and always grab a bottle (if not sold out) at Cap N' Cork in Los Feliz. Definitely doesn't sit very long at all there. Always have Blind Pig available as a backup and 2nd bottle.
