Going to be in Denver next week for 2 days for work. No car. What 2 breweries are must visit for those top notch hazy IPA's?

    Thanks!

I have Cerebral marked to check out for hazies when I’m in town ... also looking at Burns Family, but not for hazies

Cerebral is definitely top in Denver for the Hazy Bois. Fiction would be an easy stop and a nice one-two punch

I'd hit Cerebral then find a bar with Juicy Bits on tap (should be plenty of options).

Also be on the lookout for hazy bois from New Image and Odd13 while you’re here.

If you're set on breweries don't miss cerebral. If not, just go to RiNo and hit places like Finn's Manor, First Draft, Odell, Epic, etc.... all within walking distance. Easy uber/scooter to Falling Rock, Freshcraft, Euclid Hall, as well.

No such thing as a top notch "hazy" IPA!

    What part of Denver?
New Image has been killing it lately but it would be a long uber. However it's pretty close to a light-rail station and that line is nice, but you may have to wait a while for the train.

By no means am I a "hazy" aficionado as I still much prefer a dry WCIPA, but I've had several from Outer Range that have been quite good, and I see that they haven't been mentioned in this thread yet. They are NOT a Denver brewer (located up in the mountain town of Frisco) but if you go to one of the better taprooms in the downtown area (Falling Rock, Finn's, First Draft, Freshcraft, Tap Fourteen, Recess) I would be on the lookout to try anything you see from them.

I know you only mentioned hazy IPAs, but if you are interested in other styles that represent some of the best that Denver has to offer then consider stopping at Bierstadt Lagerhaus for some fantastic german style lagers. And since you'll be here next week, Stout Month at Vine Street Pub is epic if you want to try some malty deliciousness. They typically have 7-10 fantastic house-brewed stouts plus 5-8 great selections from the best other breweries in the region.

you made me look at the timetable.

21 minutes, $3.00, Union Station to Olde Town Arvada, G-Line. Then a 3 minute walk.

Haven't done it so can't report but the website promises service "every 15-30 minutes all day" which tends to mean every 15 minutes during peak hours (2-3 hours in AM, 2-3 hours in PM) and every 30 minutes the rest, ie most, of the day.

I had some nice tacos and 2 ten ounce pours (one was a Single By Choice, the other was another NEIPA) for lunch the other day after a client meeting nearby. Highly recommend.

Yes, try the slow-pour pils and anything else that they make. Outstanding beer at reasonable prices, in a fun atmosphere.

Trve has some great haze options but they also accel at other styles if you feel like having more.

Based on my experiences this past summer, Colorado is not a place where you're going ti find anything that matches up with Tree House, Trillium, or Bissell Brothers.

Weldwerks is one of the only high-profile hazy IPA producers that wins over the geeks, wins over the Zymurgy crowd, and even wins festival medals. I'd say Juicy Bits (and it's many, many variants) are as good as anything anyone else is putting out...and they even have some hardware and Zymurgy rankings to back it up.

Having had stuff from all three you mentioned, including a visit or two, I’d say the differences are minimal... sure those places are great, but let’s be honest with ourselves here- all these nepas taste essentially the same.

Sure, bad versions of the style are whack, but the ‘best’ ones negligibly different. And we certainly have both here.

This is the part that gets me and is a main reason why I'm not a huge hazy fan. It's so true and I can't help but LOL when I see comments like the previous posters.

People in shitty east coast states love to bash Colorado.. its actually pretty funny to me how much these folks throw the blinders on to reality, though I’m surprised dude didn’t go full tribal and say some place in Virginia is the best.
