You just had to ask that question. It never before occurred to me that I’ve never had a Carton Barleywine. Damn you.

I’d like to make sure I get some Wedge Issue, but know I won’t have the chance to get down in the next few weeks. If someone sees it in distro please share here. Thanks in advance.

With a football free Sunday and the wife and kids all otherwise occupied, I went down to Carton. Haven’t been there in ages. So first, the upstairs is roomier now and I was able to sit on a couch and read while I had my flight (saved the pour for a future visit). Holy shit the place is a dog park now! But on the plus side no kids. I really came down to get wedge issue as I tend to enjoy beers with Citra and Mosaic. Have to say this might be my favorite hoppy ale in quite a while. Hope they keep making this one.

I was guessing that Carton was going to make a Thai or Vietnamese coffee this year w/ condensed milk added. Glad I wasn't too far off...

My money is on Turkish Coffee for next year

still got some minor holidays coming up. i still expect at least a re-release of Irish and whatever it's paired with for St. Paddy's. Maybe one more new duo? St. Kitts is the GOAT, so I'm hoping we get that again too.

just picked up a 4 of Foster and Cuban. plan to go back for a coffee flight some time this week.

I really enjoyed Cuban. Got a very dark coffee with a nice sweetness.
Impressed a ton by Foster. Bananna was not overpowering and had a nice mello rum flavor, i can see this evolving very well.

Being both of these were vanilla rum barrels I wonder if we see another barrel pack in a different type of barrel. Maybe Irish coffee in Irish Whiskey barrel?

Personally i would love to see what type of creativity they could do if they got their hands on some mezcal or japanese whiskey barrels. thinking out of the box

I have an AUG 2 chilling in the fridge right now that I’ll probably open tomorrow, which got me thinking: any chance we’ll see the Brewer’s Board series continue in 2020? It was a cool project.

oh yea man those will be back, it's all about tank space, we already need more tanks again but we are looking for spots to bring them and a couple other fun ones back

Wedge Issue is absolutely fantastic. For me it's by far the best beer Carton has ever done and I'm glad they're finally doing that style. I hope it becomes a genuine series and I'm excited for the different hop combinations that a true artist like Augie can bring out with that awesome base recipe used for this Citra-Mosaic. It's an early frontrunner for favorite beer of 2020. Absolutely exceptional.

Totally agree. I mentioned how much I liked it up the thread a ways. Bought two four packs and I almost never do that with anything anymore.

Is there any left at the brewery? Did it make distribution?
Also, Is it hazy new england style? Or is it more of a pale/wheat beer? I can never tell anymore. Carton is usually pretty good with descriptions but I hate when breweries call something a pale ale or IPA and then it is really an over sweetened NE IPA ( Which I understand that other people like but I absolutely hate). I'm looking at you, Kane.

glad you liked it, i way over did it during the game sunday, even by my hedonistic standards, and may need a week off from loving that beer as a result. it was funny to wake up to it getting lackluster reviews on BA, it's nice to hear it worked for some of you guys, thanks.
