I bought a sixer last week for about $18-$19, have no idea why this is so expensive, but man is it tasty, talking myself out of buying another sixer soon. I love the balance, hop and malt profile, and aromas are out of this world. (Pun intended)

    Thanks for posting this!

I used to love Hop Wallop and was disappointed when it vanished. I found it was one of the hoppiest beers out there years ago.... Would be excited to try the tweaked revamped version!

This beer is outstanding. Not a pure NE IPA - a nice hybrid, definitely has that Stone feel.

Theyre too expensive, geezus lower the price, I paid 21 for hop slam which didn't taste at all like last years batch, not enough honey to cover the 10%

For the love of science, I picked up a 6pack yesterday.

I've seen it for $17.99 around my area, I do think that's high for what it is.

It has been several weeks since I have had a Hop Wallop and I can report that those last couple of bottles had 'evolved' from my earlier drinking experiences. I have no idea what the flavor profile would be now (2 months post the bottling date - for the three 6-packs I purchased). Maybe with aging the Citrus dominates as compared to the other flavors? Or perhaps you just have a differing palate from me (very likely).

    Vive la différence!!

My bottles are 6 May, no idea when it was bottled. November 6?

Glad I revisited this beer but I do not remember it being fruity. I remember a pretty pine earthy semi dry IPA. Maybe I’m remembering wrong. Either way this new version was in no way bad, just not what I was expecting. Maybe another bottle and a fresh view will be different. I am not a huge citra fan and that was my biggest let down here.

    Enjoy

That's pricy for Hop Slam, grabbed a sixxer of it this week for $16. Stone Viking is the same price, and I'll grab that next.

Had a pint of Viking Space at a bar down the street from me. Cost $6 for a pint of a DIPA, and I thought it was pretty outstanding.

It is my understanding it was bottled December 6, so about 2 months old at this point.

FWIW when this beer was fresh (about a month from bottling) it had waaay more than just citrus (for my palate). As I discussed in my NBS post:

    "Taste:

The flavor follows the nose with a complex combination of flavors: fruity, citrus, pine, resin, cedar,…No one flavor dominates and the flavors seem to come in waves. There is a notable bitterness."

Again, this could be the case of the flavor profile 'evolving' with age? Or just simply a matter of differing palates?

    Cheers!

thanks , I almost bought Viking Space Friday, it was 12.99 a six. It’s not too danky or malty is it?

I cracked a can tonight, canned January 10th. It doesn't, imho, stand out vs other DIPAs that I have had that cost significantly less. I wish that a single could have been an option.

singles are the key for most breweries to let us sample and decide.

I don't bother with six packs of new beers much anymore, been burned too many times.
