would really like a 4pk of Cuppa Stuff, but have no interest in lining up for it. Honestly, if every brewery went to the Half Acre Benthic release method, I'd be ok with it.

Just because people are there at 8 doesn’t mean you need to be there at that time to get cans, though. I was more wondering what time someone would’ve had to be there to get cans.

Has there been any word as to whether this will hit distro? I’d imagine they wouldn’t if they can sell it all out at their brewery tomorrow.

I think Maplewood has improved a bunch since Roger arrived, but not to the point of lining up for their stuff.

I've been happy just waiting for some of their "special" stuff to arrive in stores & pick them up that way.

I'm sure I'm missing out on some really good stuff, but for me they're not at the Deep Woods-level inflection point.

I would bet you have to be there no later than 9:30AM for cans. Skipping cans and going to the taproom line is probably the way to go.

Agreed. Tecmo Sabro Bowl is great. I hope we keep seeing the smaller batch Maplewood stuff down here.

The problem is that line moves incredibly slow and if you aren’t early enough in line you realistically are never getting into the taproom

I was debating whether to stop by today. My two experiences going to a release were total opposites. Cuppa Hazelnut was perfect - showed up, pretty full building but no line, had a glass at the bar before deciding to buy it, bought a two-pack, left. The Cuppa Breakfast/BA Cinnamon Coconut was a shitshow. Waited in line for 40 minutes or so and got nothing because they ran out. Not sure what to expect if I were to go over there.

They just dropped the limit to 1 2pk per person.

Win some, lose some ... today if you went to the taproom line at 10:45 instead of the can line, you got BA cinnamon coconut and breakfast pours ... then they still had cans available at 2 2pks/pp at 1pm

Imagine being the guy who got in line at 4:30 AM and only getting 2 cans AND not getting into the taproom without an hour long wait.

Somewhat shocked the brewery didn't keep the 2 2 pack limit for the first 50 or so since they showed up no later than 8 from what I've heard. I got there at 9:30 and was maybe 120 in line.

I was in that boat. My brother REALLY wanted one of the mugs, so he planned on getting there at 7. I live 10 mins away, so it's no biggy for me to meet him there that early.

We were originally told that if you got a blue wristband for the mug, that you would get two 2-packs. 10 minutes before they opened, we were told that no matter what wristband you have, you're only getting one pack of cans. It is what it is - I got a mug, and cans, so I can't complain that much.

The only problem was assuming that everybody in line was there to be in the can line, which is why they updated the allotment. I saw a story of somebody who showed up at 2, and walked away with 20 cans because they dropped the limit. That chaps my ass a bit, since I bought these cans to enjoy for myself, and I definitely would have bought more.

When your taproom, and building in general, is that small, it's definitely difficult to count out who in line is going where. Especially at the end of an awkward street, to boot. I get it, and I walked away happy with what I got, but another 2-pack would've been stellar.

Without knowing any of the financial details, I really hope they find a new location. I don't live too far from there but I just hate the space so I never go.

    The worst taproom in Chicago.

I like Maplewood fine, but agree with this. Also, it's walking distance to one of the best taprooms in Chicago.
