I definitely had a nice , lucky break. Besides the ever so valuable 3 hours less on line instead of 6...looks like I got max allotments (I got 4x Bananaversary) and possibly full access to all the IPAs besides 6th Anni? Cam told me I would get all the IPAs. However, the only IPA I picked up for myself was Cost +10 and 6th Anni.

Besides my rare luck, let's get to the beer!! (@SeanEDPBK ):

IMO, this is a below-average Anniversary release, the last 3 years have been better. Though as always, they are good.

Best beers of the day are Bannaversary and Cost +10 by far. (obviously I have not had BA Banana).

Normal Banana is as great as last year.

Barrel-aged 5th on tap was 4-4.25/5 for me. Nothing remarkable. Little Coffee. Lots of barrel (I like Barrel)

6th Anniversary IPA is not as good as I remember as 5th Anni or 4th Anni being. 5th IPA on tap today was merely 'good' or equal to 6th, but, not as good as I remember. In unscientific hindsight, my favorite anniversary releases have been 4 > 5 > 6 > 3. All VERY good, but, I'm also not a fan of triple IPAs.

Cost +10 the best IPA. Garnet, Batch1 are 4/5 for me. Classic OH selections far outshine them.

Did not drink anything else yet...

OMG it's real!? This is a parody.

Having said that, someone got so upset at 9PM!!! the night before a beer release they pulled a gun? Holy shit!

Even "funnier", we all assumed it was someone from the Midwest. It is. Go on "vacation" to NYC, stay in Manhattan, get a multi-year minimum prison sentence. Wow.

It was a disgruntled Kevin who pulled out the gun!

"The pair...began mocking the beer-lovers for standing online overnight for the release of 10 beers, with names like Bourbon Barrel Aged Bananaversary Imperial Stout, and All 6th Anniversary Everything Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunchee Imperial Stout."

Read that objectively and and try to argue the couple was wrong to mock.

Insane that the guy who pulled a gun just went back inside the Airbnb as if what he did wasn't out of the ordinary.

    From the NY Post:

    https://nypost.com/2020/02/08/craft...outside-brooklyns-other-half-brewing-company/

Was there from 8:45 am today. Police presence was substantial and focused on one particular residence across the street on Garnet. Sounds like folks on the line, Other Half, and the cops handled the situation as well as possible.

Picked up the 4th, 5th, and 6th Anniversary IPA's, a BA 5th Stout and two Bananaversaries (not the BA, they were gone).

Did you get the suspect’s name? I heard it was Kevin, but just want to verify.

No, no one I spoke to know who he was, just where, and I was on the line for 5 and a half hours.

And he wasn’t into OH beer? This gets harder and harder to believe.

So driving in from South NJ didn't have a ton of choice on switching up time when, from what I gather, these drunken hazeboiz/pastryboiz decided being blackout drunk and ordering slowly was acceptable. Missed out on 4th, tried tap, think it's "sharper" than the 6th/5th but less smooth obviously so preference will vary. Was definitely the worst time to come (1250p in context for posterity). Won't be going to anniversary again from South NJ unless, like this weekend, I was already in the area and it was a relatively minor detour. Space and ACE are better than 4/5/6/mule. Didn't try the stouts because I don't like their stouts (NOT STARTING A FIGHT I SWEAR!). But this was disappointing. But the 6th is good. The 5th is solid. So what can I say? At least I got amazing gorditas at Los Tres Chilitos in Jersey City on my way out. Seriously, those damn gorditas... Nobody makes them. Bigger highlight of today than the beer and I recommend the place to anyone in the area, despite the booing I assume will come my way from Manhattan and Brooklyn residents who will talk about how some NYC place was the best ever for gorditas.
Hey at least I wasn't shot right?......ok I'll see myself out.....

Mocking is one thing, but this creep wasn't satisfied with taunts. He responded to someone telling him not to throw a can at a woman by putting a hand gun into play. The silliness of the beer names and the fact that people are willing to wait for them is harmless fun, being taunted by someone who thinks that escalating a nothing interaction into potentially inflicting harm is not. It was clear that some people on Garnet were threatened enough that they fled; their camp chairs everywhere. It's lucky no one was hurt.

Guy from the midwest just happens to get an air bnb in an area of Brooklyn no one would ever pay to stay in unless it’s to go to OH. Yeah he was just raging that his plan to get an in on line early didn’t work out.
