Its funny how after this huge spike of interest in Anniversary, its like the wind is out of the sails and we are back to our typical release schedule.
Hearing all the different opinions reminds me of something Rozzom once said, which made a lot of sense, that he couldn't taste the difference between OH beers and many of the other local brewery options, but drinking OH beers that everyone else wanted or would line up for was a big part of his enjoyment of it.
I think some of the high ratings, particularly early ones on these hyped beers must be often by people who are similar.

Yeah I wasn't blown away by any of the 3 anniversaries. Granted, I was in a little rush when drinking the 8oz of 4th anniversary and had been outside for an hour or so. The other 2 honestly weren't THAT different, and I wasn't blown away by them either. At this point I think I'm going to reserve my purchases for their core lineup since they're usually pretty consistent and not line worthy and world class generally.

DDH Oh... available to-go at Haymaker right now, no mark-up either. Wasn't this beer just announced yesterday? If OH keeps this up, I may never have to go to Brooklyn again.

6th was hot when I tried it on tap sat, def going to sit on it for a little. I preferred Garnet over Cost+, but I grabbed a 4 of each to share with friends. I did think 4th was really great, as it was two years ago when I tried it on Sat.

Well I think the takeaway is that most people agree 4th was the best, which if anything makes the case that they should've focused on 4th anniversary lasting longer and cut out one of these other ho hum beers. I mean I get that you have stock of certain ingredients etc but seems like a way to increase scarcity/hype and increase per-person beer hauling (by having yet another option). I mean I guess that motivation is consistent with the way they operate, but it's kind of a pain as far as I'm concerned and certainly should dissuade anyone from going next year until Sunday basically (doubly so since 4th I guess wouldn't be made for that weekend anyway).

This weekend’s release sounds better than the previous 4. A dual hop, AGE and green down to the socks? Hell yea. Glad I’m not leaving until Sunday.

Marylander here. Can someone explain to me how Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg, MD gets weekly Other Half drops? They had the anniversary beers this past weekend as well. Same price as from the brewery. Sorry if this has been explained before. I’ve only read the last couple pages. Thanks!

Thanks. Just keep twisting that knife. Feels awesome.

they’re doing a great job of building up interest in their upcoming DC location. No idea when that’s slated to open though.

Other Half has working relationships with a couple of bottle shops in other counties/states where they allow them to sell the beer at cost or for a nominal upcharge. All of these moves seem fairly strategic given the mobile can sales they used to have up near Rochester prior to the brewery opening and the fact that the DC location is in the works.

    Sorry!
I keep forgetting about the DC location. It just seems strange to me because Maryland still has the 3 tier distribution system which makes it difficult. Thanks! Cheers!

Other Half Andrew is from Maryland and played Lacrosse at University of Maryland (see Burial collab, "i used to be an athlete") so I imagine there is something nice about bringing beer "home" rather than dealing with your local curmudgeony jerks who whine about everything!

Anyone heard any news on the Williamsburg location? The original announcement was a year ago this month.

As I’m watching this Rangers team display an absolute clinic on perfect passing tonight, I had my last can of nummy nug and it was significantly better than a few weeks ago. Creamy dank loveliness (and tose free to boot).

Also, I had to pick up a 4 of the double yellow chroma because I’m obsessed with the polarizing Nelson hop. The first time I ever had it (and loved it) was with Trillium’s Stillings st, but they blend it with Columbus. On its own, it definitely has a very astringent white wine taste and while I’m not as into this as much as that stillings st, I sure would love to have OH make the Nelson present with something to soften the harshness a tad like that. Unless they’ve already done that and I missed it? I think I liked the single yellow chroma better.

Over the past two years or so I've really come to love Citra and Nelson together, and I've never enjoyed nelson on its own!
