Yup. No chance arketype blows anything out of the water, not to mention some of the great henna beers that were made by Shaun.

I’m not worried about whether they’ll survive, they have established themselves in the neighborhood. But as far as a valued beer producer for beer nerds like us, they’re losing steam fast.

Noone is questioning whether More can make good beer so . Plenty of crappy local brewers pack places. The question was can More replicate the lofty standards of a highly sought after stout like Henna without Shaun? This isn't brosgettingdrunk.edu, it's beeradvocate.com where the difference between a 98 rated stout and 100 rated stout often is the difference maker in a purchase...

I kind of thought I just had bad tastes because too many people seem to love arketype and when I last had it, I was not that impressed. I'll reserve judgement for a bit though. Not going to judge someone on their first run of stouts on a new system.

Maybe there were worse ones later, but the first Arketype I had was side by side with the first Curvature at the Mikerphone beer fest. It was easily better than the Curvature.

Over-reaction and hyperbole are part of the game in craft beer. You better start prematurely reacting in an unreasonable fashion, or you hand in your neckbeard badge right now.

Haha well a lot of people that I've seen give it solid reviews are friends who I also know will call out bad beer. I would still take arketype or these "shitty" hennas over your majority of shit breweries that pop up everywhere, though.

I had about 4 or 5 small pours at More. The only one I didn't rate a "4" was that awful cherry truffle. They were, otherwise, decent beers that I could drink and enjoy. The brewery definitely lends itself to the sweeter side, which is really what holds them back from a higher grade for my own personal tastes. The food was also pretty good. I look forward to having them closer to home when they open up in Huntley even if they aren't world class.

With the opening of a production brewery in Huntley, they're going to have to appeal to beer nerds to create the kind of generational wealth the owners are clearly hoping to get out of the business.

Exactly. They’re about to enter distribution in a meaningful way so the Corridor example doesn’t fit the way it did in 2017-2019

Finally, another option for dishonest people to drink at!

They are going to do really well with that location (just off the highway) and loads of people around with few other options. Excited to see their progress with the increased capacity. They struggled to keep their own beers on tap in Villa Park.

I had a hard enough time finding a map with Lake Zurich on it. Now I need to find one with, double checks, Huntley on it?

Being right across from a senior living subdivision should make for some wild nights at More

I agree with Shriner in the sense that the location they picked was smart for the second facility. I'm thinking of making a pilgrimage out there with a friend and wondering what else there is in the area of interest. I've only been to Huntley once and that was eight years ago, I think. Suggestions don't need to be drink related (nature things, etc.). This trip wouldn't be opening weekend, as I already have another beer related thing going on that day. I just think it would be noteworthy to visit at least once. From the pics online it looks huge. Thanks in advance to anyone who chimes in with other things to do in that vicinity.

Being virtually equidistant from Chicago as it is from Rockford really deters me from visiting. Enjoy Rockford

There’s another brewery down 47 called Sew Hop’d. They aren’t doing anything “exciting” but the space is nice and the beers are good.

Beers are ok but the bbq is worthy of a stop at the BBQ King in the center.
