Drie Fonteinen Hommage Bio Frambozen. - This bottle wasn't cheap, but the markup was trivial vs finding it on the shelf [if you can find it on the shelf]. This is the by far the best fruited lambic I've ever tasted.

Aren't we crazy-spoiled with the amount of amazing beers we have available these days?

I didn't see that. I only saw Staff of Asir. Unless they sold out prior to me getting there ~5PM

FYI City Beer Store had this on the shelf yesterday for $55. Got one because it's so good. Unfortunately they were sold out of Golden Blend.

Yeah, I saw it previously but skipped out on the purchase since I have a $55 regular Hommage at home. But since the event was "only" charging $65 for it, I decided to give it a shot. (My first choice of Cantillon Mamouche was long gone by then.) But hmmm maybe I should pick one up at City Beer...

Yessir! I thought the event started at noon, cuz that's when they open. But apparently they started at 11, so all the loon bottles were gone when I arrived (except Oude Geuze, which I like but not for $45).

It was a little slow when I arrived at 1145 ... about 20 mins to get in. But after that, the line was completely gone. So you coulda had Rose de Gambrinus on tap indefinitely.

The "sour shit-storm" at old devil moon on Saturday was great. It was my second time going to the "event" and it was really a good time. The bartenders are super friendly and really kept things running smoothly.

Worth indicating that I went to CBS yesterday and they had regular Hommage (not the Bio Frambozen one) for 56.99. But in case you were interested, they do have Golden Blend. I think it's only in the fridge though:

Looks like you already missed the main events that SLICE was a part of this week.

"SACRAMENTO NIGHT" at Toronado was last night.2/12.

You might hit Beer Revolution on 2/14 or Holy Water on 2/14 & 2/15.

Not yet really. SLICE just started doing limited distro in Roseville and Sacramento very recently in the past month. Just a couple OTPizza (Roseville & Lincoln) and a few local taprooms. They are still only a few months old and VERY SMALL.

The SF stuff this week looks to be just "Special Events" for SF Beer week.

If you’re going to be in the North Bay, Beercraft (both locations) and Rincon Valley Taproom have had Slice beers on tap.

Beer Week Summary: This year we hit up different parts of the Bay Area to check out out old favorites as well as a few new places.

Saturday 2/8: We went to the Clandestine 2 Year Anniversary at their new location w/ strong beers. Clandestine slowly continues to up their game. They released their first Bourbon BA that I'm aware of, the Cocoa Barleywine, and it was as good as most of the BA beers I've had elsewhere. The Almon' Brothers Pastry Stout was also good, a bit thin but somehow dangerously crushable.

Sunday 2/9: We went to the Half Moon Brewing Beer Brunch, first time at HMB. The regular brunch menu was better than their special menu for food, but the BBA Damage Inc. Imperial Stout was very nice. We picked up a bottle of that and of the Whiskey BA Papa Juice Old Ale. Since Hop Dogma was literally down the road, we stopped there too and a had a few others, our favorite of which was the Forced Perspective Baltic Porter.

Thursday 2/13: After wanting to check out the ThirstyBear Beer & Paella event but never motivating myself to make the commitment to go up to SF on a weeknight just for that, I finally got the opportunity since I was going to be in there that day for Big Country in concert, so I went to Beer & Paella before that. As usual...ThirstyBear beer is nothing special, but the paella was good. The best beer I had there was the Ugly Truth Hazy DIPA, which was just alright. I also got to sample one of the official SFBW brews on guest tap, Common Dreams...which was also just alright. Still, $40 for AYCE/D good paella and alright beer is not a bad deal.

Saturday 2/15: We went up to Alameda to for the Pure Project can release @ Admiral Maltings. We got there at 1 but they still had plenty in stock so we picked up both the Clouds of Delusion NE DIPA & Hyrda Sour DIPA -- both excellent. While we were there we went on a tour, which was pretty cool. Almanac was next door so we had to make a stop. Their sours were ok but I don't feel live up to the hype, though it was nice to be able to get them in a taster set rather than pay ~$10 for a single-serve bottle. Finally, since were in Alameda, we had to stop by Faction. We were good and just took a growler of the Mounds of Green to go (TIPA collab w/ Slice) -- EXCELLENT beer.

Sunday 2/16: We always make a point to go to the 21st Amendment Strong Beer Brunch or Brewer's Tea. The food menu was more sparse than usual though (only one kind of special sausage, though it did come with some excellent sauerkraut) and the beers were mostly the same last last year, just with outer-space style names. Still, good times & great music. The one new one was the Xenomorph Imperial Stout with cocoa & chiles. I also think the Ghidorah IIIPA and the Galactic NE IIPA were better than last year.

We then went over to Cellarmaker House of Pizza while waiting for Old Devil Moon to open, and found out they had a couple Trillium guest brews on tap, so we got the Coffee Cake pastry stout & Blueberry Super Soak sour. Kind of steep at $8 for 7 oz, but then again, how often do you get Trillium out here. The Coffee Cake was excellent, the Blue SS good.

Finally, we capped it off at Old Devil Moon with their $5 end of SFBW Sunday. It was advertised as $5 Full Pours of everything left from Beer Week -- it turned out that sours and BA beers were 10 oz pours rather than pints, but that's probably a good thing and they were still a steal at $5 each. We ended up getting:

Grimm - Cinnamon Babka Imperial Milk Stout
Sante Adairius - Of This World TIPA
Fifty Fifty - BART (Barrel-Aged Really Tasty)
Hair of the Dog - Bourbon BA Fred From the Wood
    Logdon - Eagle Kriek
Drake's - Hopocalpyse Black Label TIPA

All in all, a very productive Beer Week. Now I'm going to take it easy for a few weeks. :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad you enjoyed the event and were able to get some fantastic beers for a steal. Some customers seemed to be confused, but it was exactly as advertised. The beers that were $5/10oz were beers that were never available in a pint, thus both before and during our kick the keg event, a full pour was 10oz. If we had intended to offer everything as $5/pint, it would have been advertised as such.
