I’m just not sure I can do berry anything in an IPA. I can barely enjoy berry in stouts.

 

I got tart from the blueberry up front and then the creamy vanilla taste in the back. It's not horrible, but I wish the flavors blended together better. Didn't think it was overly sweet but I've only had one so maybe other cans will be sweeter. Definitely not getting a Robitussin taste though.

 

So who’s ready to pick up their Ambassadors bottle tomorrow?

 

After an uneven start, I think Phase Three has really righted the ship. I assumed the reaction to Blueberry Chantilly was hyperbolic.

The beer is (to me) undrinkable. It's like Boo Berry's (good call @GreatGazoo !) poured into a blueberry version of Fanta.

 

Untappd is apparently full of idiots:

“it’s a no for me dog” - 3.5
“Pretty embarrassing for p3 ... drinkable but hard pass” 3.75
“I’m being nice” - 3.5
“This fucking sucks” - 1.5 - There we go a rating that reflects the comment

 

I mean, look at how they spelled the name of the app.

 

This is glorious (and I’ve complained about people’s ratings on Untappd enough). But there are plenty of people on here that admit they rate similarly to this (ie, 3.5 is something they wouldn’t drink again).

 

For me, a 3.5 means it was “fine” but would probably never seek it out again.

 

I was going to say that I've seen the other end of the spectrum on here quite a few times.

In all honesty, I don’t actually understand why BA doesn’t have two scales: to style (with all the categories) and then a seperate rating (one category - enjoyment?) where people rate how much they like/enjoyed the beer.

If I want to investigate whether I will like a beer, I currently check both BA and untappd because of the differences. BA is more honest and about the style. Untappd is less honest and more about taste. I weigh accordingly.

 

I just checked your untappd. If I had not been sitting down, I might have fallen over laughing, because I now know what your meant. Awesome.

Haha yeah I forgot about that. You came up when I was looking up posts for a beer or someone tagged you or something and I thought "Hey, I kind of know this guy in a very transient way from the Internet and that's close enough." Lol. I have a couple other friends of friends on there I'll probably never meet but share the intimate details of my private beer life with.

Sooo how’s Curvature B5 tasting?

 

Every time I swear off buying any more P3 IPAs, they do something to pull me back. This one sounds super interesting.

 

I last bought Positive Launch and Whimsical Nature. Thought both were a little too much on the sweet side for me, even more so than most HB IPA’s.

It seems like this Horus collab could be released in March. They posted about it on social media about 4 weeks ago, they're going to have it at Pastrytown in a little over a week, and someone mentioned on FB about seeing labels for it at the brewery. Should be an exciting one.
