Legit question, but I think if vibrations in cold storage were an issue it would have been discovered long ago since once a compressor kicks on, everything in the fridge is vibrating to some degree.

Probably not, but the Harley pipes next door make me want to crush my beer glass when I hear them.

If we are worried about bouncing in beer, why do brewers fill it full of hops?

It was a joke. Serious answer is I don’t really touch the stouts or “sours”, but they make a great NEIPA and yes those hold up great

We remove the woofers for this trip so we can fit more in the trunk

I have a Bose soundsystem in my car and there is a subwoofer in the trunk area that sits within the spare tire like this:

I never thought to disconnect the subwoofer when doing a beer 'smuggling' run. Thanks for the tip!!

    Cheers!

There was a thread in the home brewing section where someone was concerned about this (either kegerator, fermentation chamber or beer fridge) and was looking for some gel type cushion to absorb the vibration, @JackHorzempa I think you were in on that one too. For the life of me I can't find this thread

Yeah, unfortunately the Mods deleted that thread.:grimacing:

There were tons of great posts concerning Jello (yes, including several posts from me). This thread had genuine potential for being the best thread of 2020.

But alas, it is not to be.:slight_frown:

    Cheers!

A thousand times this answer. Even if you have subs thumping every night, you are probably talking 4-6 hours of intermittent rattling. The compressors rattling in your behind-the-bar coolers and in your walk-in are closer to your brew and are doing that number 24-7.

In addition, the compressor rattling is probably at a higher frequency, which means more vibration.

Kudos to you for caring, though.

Instead of light struck perhaps we could call beer sound struck? Or is there a catchier name that refers to the effect of thundering vibrations?
