Vigorously shaking the can for a few hours will probably affect the beer more than playing BeeGees records w/subwoofer

Yeah, I sit at traffic lights and age my young beer with my thumpa thumpa machine just to piss everyone around me off even if they are old farts. I try not to draw attention to myself and my devotion to sonic quality, but I am an artist of sound quality and must express myself to make sense of the world. It's deep, man!

Beer isn't chemically stable in the package, so any chemical reactions that are taking place in the bottle/can will be sped up by agitation and/or heat. However, as other posters have said, the additional vibrations from the music won't add much more agitation over the compressors in the refrigerators. Plus it's only a few hours a weekend, so unless you have beer that is in storage a long time before it's sold any effects from the music should be negligible.

If you're still concerned about it rig up a small vibration proof storage device (I like the hang them from the ceiling idea) inside your storage area for a couple beers and put a couple identical beers aside in the storage area as they would normally be. Wait a few weeks and have some people whose palates you trust do a blind taste test.

I think it’s ridiculous, the beer isn’t being delivered by covered wagon to the retailer. I mean it has to be moved, I just don’t think normal shipping and handling makes any practical difference in the product.

No worries. I know you were joking. I enjoyed some of their earlier NEIPAs (showers, diamonds, all green, etc). Now they all seem to be over well over 8%, much sweeter and even less bitter. And the amount of reckless abandon in which they throw all sorts of crap into their stouts and sours is ridiculous. But, there is a market for it and enough people love it. I’m sure they are making $$$ hand over fist so can’t knock em for that.

Well, some folks would say that beer is best consumed at the source. I am fortunate that I can purchase beer from a plethora of small, local breweries and those beers were not shipped.

As was mentioned previously beer shipping does impact beer quality (a scalping effect).

    Cheers!

P.S. I just gotta remember next time to disconnect my subwoofer the next time I purchase beer for take away.:flushed:

Probably expensive, but have you considered installing isolation springs under your floor?

The added advantage would be resistance to earth tremors.
