    Based on everything that you have just laid out, I have no idea how you can possible believe that this box actually exists. I'm not trying to be harsh, but you are obviously blinded by the fact that you guys had a good relationship over the last year or so. The excuses that were given are not innocent to me, they are juvenile. I'm not saying that things like "left the box at home on accident" don't happen, however, that should only delay shipping a day or two at most. Personally, if I actually had a box packed up and ready to go it would drive me insane to not ship it out and get that task off my plate. Only the laziest of individuals could stare at a packed box for weeks and not ship it out.

    Also, if this box did exist then you would have the tracking number. I'm a nice guy but I will not be tracking your box for you at your request after I drop it off and send you the number and the ETA given to me by the shipping company. Even if it slipped my mind to send the tracking number to you, I would immediately send it over if you asked me for the progress. I'm not going to personally track your box for you when I could just send you the number and you could handle it yourself.

    While I do not track my partner's boxes to send them updates, I do monitor the progress so that I know that everything is okay with the package. If I noticed that a box was delayed I would immediately let them know. The fact that as of today this box that is "on the way" is on day 7 when it should have only taken 4, and yet you have no tracking number and no update from your trade partner is a huge red flag. Best of luck, but at this point this does not look good at all. While this person may have a good reputation, this is not good trader behavior and they should be named so that they know that you are not going to tolerate this any longer as it sounds like you have asked for this return box more than enough times at this point.

    You're not being harsh. I have had some worries for a while now, and normally my trades don't go like this. I have a stellar reputation, and I have worked hard to earn it. I've had one major hiccup in a trade, and I probably legitimately annoyed the guy with updates and information. I usually send tracking before I leave the UPS parking lot. I've had to wait until Monday once or twice if I didn't make it on Friday, but this was communicated instantly. I've been too lenient here, and I know that. It's not like I suddenly got suspicious today - I've been worried for weeks, and I have a few theories. I am glad to see that I'm not alone in my skepticism here. The overwhelming response makes me feel better about starting this. I agree with you 100%.

    UPDATE:

    The trader in question just got back to me and said that there was a "delivery exception" and that the box was sent back to him. I have been told that it will be sent back out on Monday. Obviously, this is questionable, but for now, I am going to roll with it.

    My original plan was to tag him on Monday anyway, if I did not have tracking by then. In light of receiving communication, I am going to offer them a chance to ship on Monday. If I don't have an active tracking number by Monday night, I will be tagging the person here. I appreciate all of the input from everyone, and I will be closely monitoring this through Monday. I'm not sure if this thread had a hand in this or not, but I'm hoping this can be resolved.

    This can easily be verified by gaining access to the tracking # in question. I think we all know that this new information is highly questionable at best. Get your box and move on from this love affair. It's unfortunate to know that someone else will now end up dealing with this guy.

    I did not. It was a perfectly great trade - generous, well-packed, and with good communication. To my knowledge, no one else ever has either, and his feedback is particularly flattering, with a 99.5% score due to one failed feedback. This seems highly uncharacteristic of him.

    I'm able to track any incoming shipments via my Fedex, UPS, and USPS apps, regardless of whether the shipper has provided me with a tracking number. If you have these apps set up and don't see any tracking info, then your trading partner never actually sent anything to you. Delivery exceptions can happen (they have happened to me a handful of times w/ Fedex), but you should be able to confirm them via your Fedex/UPS/USPS app.

    Thank you so much for this. While it's likely too late for me to utilise this now for the issue at hand, this is an extremely helpful piece of information, and I will make sure to look into it for future trades. I have never had an issue before (I use UPS), but I know the trader uses FedEx. This seems like a highly valuable tool for all traders.

    This must be your first time reading one of his comments. I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure that the Untappd buyout went down because BA was having trouble maintaining the servers due solely to this guy's overly lengthy commentary.

    Did you ask your trade partner for a tracking number? You can use it to see that there was an exception.

    it’s pretty simple at this point, either tell the guy this thread exists and he will be tagged if beer not received or just tag them already. A lot of handwringing going on here.

    Didn’t want to like every comment that suggested to out the trader, but yeah out the guy. You came to this specific forum for advice and it’s been giving and you’re being stubborn about taking it. Completely understand where you’re coming from but shit happens. Good luck

    Annnnd, coming from me it must sound absurd, but...this guy man. He has me blocked, clearly, because he spent an inordinate amount of time hand wringing in the trade value thread over "why won't people just send me whalez for my shitty beer it's not fair beer values are unjust (for me only)" and I called him out on it.

    I can be an overly verbose poster but this guy is so up in his feelings all the time without recognizing other people are experiencing the same world he is, and he fails to step back and look at a better way to go about things.

    This thread is only making that more painfully clear. So much that could have been done on his part to make the experience better. Not just in his trade, but also in being concise and more importantly, FORTHCOMING, as to the facts of this case. I can't help but feel that there's been a lot of intentional withholding of information.

    Jesus, I'm not getting out of this alive, am I? Thank you to the multiple people for your suggestions in the comments, and especially for taking the time to actually PM me - especially those who had nothing constructive to say.

    I have heard back from bstyle, as mentioned, and once again, I expect a box to be on its way on Monday with no further issue. If that is the case, and I'm sure it will be, I will close this thread, and we'll all be on our merry ways. If complications arise, then there are resources to address that. I do not foresee any issues.

    Unfortunately, the open trade expired, and rather than becoming delinquent as I thought it would, it was simply purged from the system yesterday, would perhaps highlights a flaw in the trading/feedback system.

    I stated multiple times that I would address this on Monday, after the initial community feedback, but it appears I'm cornered here, so this is everything I have to say for the next 36 hours.
