I went last year and it’s a great lineup. One question that I pose nowadays is...what festival bringing the “hot” breweries costs less than $75??

Went to Mikerphone for the first time in 18 months... had 4 IPAS (mic check, switch the flo, special sauce, poetic hustler)

mic check was easily the best of the 4. Bought a 4pk. Not impressed by the other 3.

That’s what I thought as well. Was there last month. All of their Citra only beers tastes great. It’s a crapshoot with the rest. I just bought a 4pk of Poetic Hustler which is a Nelson feature. Hoping this single hop success translate to that

450 north going to be at Smells Like a Beer Fest. Glad they’re putting a responsible emphasis on hydration.

Some folks like to give them gruff. Ah shoot, we all do (they f%^&n ruined craft beer after all). But hosting ~100 breweries, with many the likes of which you will rarely see in IL if at all, is pretty damn impressive imo. And in Elk Grove no less. Plus proceeds go to a charity which is a plus in my book. Well, I hope the event is a success anyway.

No man you don't get it.... Mikerphone throws the worst beer fests. Anytime they have a good beer fest, it's because the other breweries make their own beer fest and Mikerphone puts their name on it.

So you’re saying they are the P Diddy of craft breweries?

“Let’s just add a hi-hat right here. Bam, gold. Put my name on it.”

Yup! Mikerphone beer fests are only good because of all the non-Mikerphone beer there!

Same. Excited that my wife gets to go this year. She was pregnant and missed it last year.

For those that haven't had luck, last year I kept refreshing for 20 minutes before I got tickets. There were some in carts that were released late. Might not work again this year, but could be worth a try.

Finally got tickets for the event, excited.

I don't do a great job with keeping up with breweries anymore, too many to keep track of, who are the top priorities to hit on the list?

So I went last year, and had a big plan of what I wanted to drink, etc. and when I got there, it was all out the window. I don't remember having a bad beer all day. Plus, if you want to follow the hype, you'll see the lines form. Last year Pip's was the longest line.

You'll have a blast. Don't get hung up on specific beers, or at the most, maybe one or two you really want to try.

Exactly this. Plus some of the breweries (like P3) bust out special stuff on a timed release so the lines are in flux a lot. The Midwest covered tents was a trip last year but fingers crossed for some better weather and a little more room to roam.
