Back when, when I was an OTR driver, I would hear ads for Bullfrog when in the area. So, when in the area on off time, they were a must-hit. My dad, best friend Bob, and I rolled in. We had a couple, some eats, and we're bout ready to roll. I asked the bartender, if they could do a Black and Tan. She said she didn't know, but, hold on a second. Goes in back. Comes back in a minute with a guy she introduces as the brewer.

He's like, don't know, but, let's try this: he pours out what he thought would work. Turns out, it was exactly opposite. I ended up with a Beer lava lamp. The whole bar was watching my beer, I couldn't drink it! Dude poured me a pint of something else while my Tan n Black provided the entertainment. Great times. I wonder if it's the same guy you reference?

Sneaking in a NBS post before midnight PST. Came home after a difficult evening at work to my new puppy who had diarrhea in his crate. The general aroma in my living room can only be described as grapefruit scented cleaner with a hint of shit, aka shitrus. I will do my best now that I can finally sit down and have a beer.

Very Varied from Bearded Iris Brewing - Imperial New England IPA. Descibed as a DIPA that combines nelson, citra, cashmere and mosaic with a unique British yeast. ABV 8%, canned 1/28/20, from @Jasonja1474 for the Rookie BIF.

L: Poured into a Tired Hands teku, hazy pale lemony-orange with a finger width of fluffy white head.
S: Sweet citrus with a hint of pine.
T: Citrus with a distinct peachy flavor that fades into tropical notes with a mildly bitter finish.
F: Soft and fluffy. Slightly dry finish that gets more astringent over time.
O: It's good. Didn't have the usual overpowering nelson flavors, and the peachy-ness was quite nice. Easy drinking for an 8%er.

Happy Finale of/to New New Trail & Feeling Light-Hearted About Happoshu Beer Sunday (Week 784)!
It has been CANother productive Sunday & I am glad I spent it with yinz. My CANputer decided to do a massive update ~ 1700, forcing me to take a nap while it did its thing. I am now wide-awake, but I do have to go to work in the AM so I may not be as prolific in this post as in the previous ones.

For @jkblr : I actually have a seventh (7th) Happoshu for you, but my shipping CANtainer did not have enough space to ship that many at once. It will be included in the next box.

For @beertunes : I assume that yours was a vintage CAN of Billy Beer. I reviewed an ancient CANned beer a while back & got a LOT of flak for it. Times may have ChANged & such may now be allowed, but I have enough in my backlog to worry about, let alone VOS (very old scheiss).

If I'm not into the old, then I must be drinking the new, as in Williamsport, PA's New Trail BC beers. My next was:

@beertunes : That sounds like Charlie!

See yinz next week with more … stuff!

Thank you for the kinds words @swenny916 , it's been a lot of fun trading with you over the years. I believe you've forgotten some of the wonderful items you've also sent me. The best part of trading IMO is trying to build a box that'll surprise the recipient. Cheers

Sorry about the pup shituation. As for shitrus, that can also be caused by Nelson hops overwhelming Citra, IMHO.

How does it compare to their Helles? I will definitely be trying this and I enjoy the Helles but it looks like it will be discontinued in favor of this.
