I am a big fan of label design. Some breweries that I think make consistently great label art are Bellswoods, Finback, Collective Arts, and Lamplighter.

Which brewer labels always catch your eye?

There's a lot of great beer labels out there. Ones that always catch my eye are Clown Shoes, Pipeworks, and Burlington Beer Company. Great Notion did a drop of cans for EBF in January and their label art is pretty impressive too.

NOT Grape Lotion! Their cartoony/hipster shit makes me wanna scream.

I would like to hear @vurt s thought on this topic though.

Another vote for Clown Shoes' @Axtimusprime

Actually have a table top for my home bar that I used Clown Shoes labels for. Picture from when it was a work-in-progress.

Nightmare Brewing currently makes my favorite labels. Crazy, macabre looking artwork. As other people have said above Drekker makes cool stuff as well as Anchorage. I also like the artwork on Tree House's more limited brews. I Will Not Be Afraid, Surrealism, In Perpetuity, etc.

I dig Half Acre, Pipeworks, Holy Mountain. At the same time, I also always respected the minimalist labels of Maine Brewing.

Not really artistic, but I like what Fat Head's does.

I'm not a fan of artwork taking over most of the can label, too many labels out there have artwork with the details of the beer in fine print somewhere on the can. I want to at least be able to know what style the beer is without having to pick up the can and search for it. I always pass these cans over when I'm looking for beer.

    More print, less artwork please.

https://www.halfhoursonearth.com/ has always been a favourite of mine. Simple but I love it.

Funny that the OP mentioned Bellwoods. They are local to me and there a whole bunch of other Ontario breweries are using label art that is clearly "inspired by" Bellwoods. There have been a couple downright copies, but alot of just close enough.

Budweiser (the beer, not the brand) still has the single greatest can/bottle design.

I like Jack's Abby, Allagash, Otter Creek, Ommegang...and now I'm drawing blank

Oxbow is always good for me. Simple, clean, minimal. The typography is always interesting and I know exactly what the beer is without having to ask or look it up.

Hunter S. Thompson is my favorite author, so the Ralph Steadman artwork on the Flying Dog labels always make me smile.
Now that I think about it, I can’t remember the last time I bought a Flying Dog beer...
