Yessssss! I had zero plans of going to Kane this weekend. Actually I was planning on visiting my parents out in Lanoka Harbor on Sunday and maybe hitting Icarus up on the way home.

I presume it’s pretty likely that Port Omna cans will still be around on Sunday, no? If I do score cans I’m not even sure if I’m gonna bother with Port Omna day this year, that’s how happy I am with the base beer (that coconut/Irish potato one is really nice tho)

I think it was originally Doc stiffington years ago and then he switched to Mister....could be wrong though (and considering my record, I probably am)

Yeah I was Dr for many years, was Mr the last two years but felt like going back to Dr, what with all the coronavirus worries going on.

100% agree. Was bummed when they only dis that pastry shit last year. I will say i wouldn't kick that Irish potato omna outa bed for eating crackers though. Best of the omnas.

I still haven’t dipped into my Bourbon Driftwood from last year. The apple brandy barrel version sure was bomb though. If there are bottles left I’m tempted to sang one and do a head-to-head and go to bed early lol

releasing Driftwood and Omna with no variants... does that mean they're gonna
    A. announce those tomorrow morning?
    B. release them next week or soon after?
    C. Skip em this year?

    i hate morning of announcements

They'll probably announce a sticker can IPA tomorrow. Maybe they'll release different variants on the 7th and 14th

But also based on the recent "let chaos ensue" releases. I can see them announcing 3+ BA variants at like 8am.

Got there around 4:40pm to get a crowler and a 4pk of Port Omna. Tasting room was a war zone. Never seen it that busy, even around same time on Black Friday. Long line for pours and samples, no line for cans and growlers. Surprised that it was that packed late in the afternoon. Usually its died down around then.

No idea why it was that busy.

I was in the area on Sunday so I stopped by Kane around 12:30. Within a half hour or so, the tap room really started to fill up. Had a pour of Morning Mocha and Head High 2,000. Morning Mocha is a divine beer, simply delicious. HH2K was solid, too. Walked out with a four pack of Port Omna, which I haven't had in years. Had a can last night and it really is a tasty, relatively straight-forward stout.

I also hit up 4 NJ breweries over the previous two days and three of those severely pale in comparison to Kane. (Conclave being the one that deserves to be in the same discussion as Kane).

I mean....I knew and we all know that Kane is the top in the state, but when you go to four other breweries (one of which has a very solid reputation but leaves you disappointed)... it is fascinating how much Kane stands head and shoulders at the top.

Okay we need to know the other 3 now lol. Conclave is great and under rated in the overall of what gets “hyped” in NJ IMO

Twin Elephant should be up by the top IMO and also Refreind(yes i am qualifying them as a brewery).
