Alpine Blissful Wizzard 6.5.% Mosaic and Strata IPA. This is my favorite besides the Exponential which is probably the best beer of 2020. Anyone who thinks Alpine fell off is mistaken. Nobody in San Diego or anywhere touching them right now.

Left Hand Chai Milk Stout Nitro, 5% ABV. Pours thick and black with a 1+ finger nitro head. Nose is spices, including cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and lactose. Taste follows, plus vanilla, slightly bitter. Mouthfeel is thick, smooth, and creamy. Overall outstanding. It wouldn't take much to make this a pumpkin spice stout, many might call it that already.

Saint Arnold Commitment, this is their new Imperial Stout...at 13.4% ABV its pretty big

Listening to Joe Farrell's Outback. Playing with Chick Corea and Elvin Jones (easily his best album since playing with Coltrane.) I love these old CTI albums. Pete Turner's photo's were excellent, and as iconic as the old Blue Note album covers.






And, since it is March...its time to break out the Irish novels. This is my favorite month of the year for literary fiction, as I collect new Irish authors or novels I haven't read from said authors. So far this months stack looks like this...



Currently finishing Niall Williams History of the Rain. Anne Enright's new novel was just released today, called Actress which will probably be next...then more Williams. If I have time, on to yet more Iris Murdoch, as there is always something new from her I haven't gotten to yet. Eeven nearly 30 years after her last novel. If I have time Roddy Doyle, and a bunch more that I probably won't get to this month

I'm sure I'll post more about my Irish authors, dead, new, or otherwise this month. Probably with some Guinness Foreign Extra Stout and some Irish Whiskey
