Saison Day 2020

Nice coastal representation.

Sounds like a fun event though. Perhaps I'll pour myself a saison that night.

I've been two Saison Day in Portland, ME twice and can confirm it's a great time. The key is you start at Allagash because, well, Allagash. Then you drive (safely) and park somewhere near Oxbow and get ya saison on.

(Although I suppose every time I make the trek to Portland it's Saison Day. The above is how I spend every trip up there. Shrugs.)

 

Saison Day usually happens every time I visit Sante Adairius Rustic Ales. It's a fine idea by Allagash

 

Threes, in Brooklyn, is a worthy visit. They have a wide range of styles on tap most days and each is at least pretty good. I’ll try to visit on Saison Day.

 

Yeah, cuz Garden Path and Propolis don't make great Saisons.

I'm scheduled for a 20 hour work day that day, but will participate by drinking some the following day while I recoup.

 

Damn, Allagash please come back to Texas, specifically Houston. I don't care about the rest.

 

Looks like nothing formal is scheduled in New Jersey but it doesn't take much to get me to drink a Saison or two so it's on the calendar.

Allagash is the one brewery I trust through and through to bring the goods. They get a good chunk of my beer spend. That being said, their 4-pack Saison is fairly pedestrian brew.

Glad I saw this thread and remembered the plan: drink saisons on the 4th. Gotta stock up

 

Brewery Bhavana makes the best Saisons here in North Carolina. Very creative and almost every one of the ones I have tried have been strong.

Yea. No fruit. No brett. No bugs. Just straight up saison or farmhouse ale

 

So few are available in the US at the moment, so I typically opt for Belgian options (which are also scarce right now). I do enjoy Sofie, Helios (which I think is now dead), Hennepin, Tank 7, Hoppy Table Beer (Allagash)...the latter being questionable as to style, but it drinks like a saison to me at least.

 

FWIW, Sofie has brett. It may take 6 months to a year to really assert itself, but it's a part of the beer's essence, imo. I wouldn't buy it otherwise .
