As if Chicago needed another amazing brewer to contribute to its embarrassment of riches.

Now I want to give The Art of Holding Space a tick. Is that ironic? I swear to share it over dinner!

Interesting that Half Acre is hosting her. Is there a separate area for her work, the mixed culture stuff that is? Or are they not worrying about oak aging just yet?

Averie’s equipment is in the area between the shop and the taproom. If you look out the shop side door you can see it.

Thanks for chiming in here. I was about to go look at my notes to see if I had that information somewhere.

I haven't traded in years, but I might be on the prowl next release. Either that, or I'll drive to Chicago.

I just recently started following her on Instagram. Her beers sound right up my alley. Hopefully I'll get to try them in the near future.

I’m all for trying new stuff, especially so with mixed fermentation beers but a 3% “table beer”?? Gimme a break.

Edit: even if she wants them to be shared, wouldn’t that mean upping the abv, not lowering it?

But it wouldn’t be a table beer if it had a higher ABV.

Thats what a table beer is. And some people enjoy these low ABV beers.

What does abv have to do with anything?

Did this sell out during the release or is it still available?

Why can't I find Keeping Together's web-site? I get not having a space, but not having a web-site if you are selling a product in this day and age? Crushed by Giants has one and they aren't even brewing...

Fortunately, hype should stay low until she fruits something ...[checks instagram]... dammit.

I had just returned from Jester King when the first release came out. I was prattling on about how excited I was to the Half Acre staff person at the register, and she distinctly gave the impression that she had no idea what I was talking about.

which, to be fair, is how people usually respond to me.

www.keepingtogether.com it's not finished yet. But what info could you possibly need right now?

Okay, I need more information now. What was her spirit bread and opinion on whether you could kill a wolf with a sword?

i think she said focaccia, but the middle sound was more of an “off” instead of an “och,” which was weird to me.

Also, I was just walking around the zoo, and after observing the red wolves for a while, I am feeling even more confident in my abilities.

but not to derail a young thread - I wonder if “distribution” will be handled exclusively by Half Acre bottleshops moving forward? And how quickly will we see a HA wyld cove / off color collab? And is there a coolship? Someone show me the koelschip!

I don't think there will ever be enough made out of HA to see distro. They sold all of beer 1 at Lincoln. I don't believe there's a coolship.

    This.

I’ve changed my opinion on this over the last 3/4 years. I used think calculate value of beers by how delcious they were, their cost and how much booze was in the them. My friend named that calculation “the beer quotient”

now in our thirties, we love finding delicious beers at under 5%. No longer worried as much about bang for my buck, booze wise. I want to drink highly refined and delicious beer all afternoon and not have to worry about being too drunk to play supervise my friends kids, or wake up the next morning with a 6pk of anti hero hang over.

So, as crazy as it sounds to some people, there are moments I’m actually happy to pay more for a lower ABV beer depending on what the day calls for.

Amen, I'm a bit too much of a broke ass/drunk to do all my drinking on elegant table beers but I aspire to solve the financial side of that equation some day. Sure I still enjoy higher abv stuff but its soooo nice to be able to drink really good beer all afternoon and not be flirting with death the next day.

Also @mrmattosgood , very nice article that introduced me to a new awesome beer person
