I love that many breweries are doing this... it at least lessens the impact on them. I urge them anyone who has some money to spare to support your local businesses!

I agree. Trying to support the local spots here, ordering food to-go and buying beer (and tipping well) whenever I can.

Stopped by my favorite local brewery today - Track 7 in Sacramento - to pick up some cans of Shenanigan's Irish Coffee Imperial Stout. They are limited to take out only and not filling any outside growlers. I urge all BAers to support your local beermeisters- let's get through this together. Happy St. Patty's Day and cheers!

Well all bars taprooms and restaurants are closed. I’m just buying local packaged beer. Not a lot of options right now

You mean to say that NONE of your local breweries are offering curbside stuff?

Especially the small breweries whose beer is only available on tap at one location, those are the ones who could wind up hurting most. I bartend part-time for a place like this and I would be heartbroken to see them go out of business

I own a restaurant and we can use the money from gift card purchases the day after purchase.

Glad to hear this has been disproved. I'll use this knowledge going forward.

I think that certain states have temporarily lifted restrictions around some of these things, if not they should. Draft only places should have the option of filling and selling growlers. Compensations need to be made during these times to allow places to not go under. Hopefully we will see some weakening of regulations that are preventing these places from doing business in the current environment.

Not sure how gift cards work in totality. At my place of work if you buy a gift card it does not count as a sale for the store. When a gift card is redeemed it counts as a sale in the store it was redeemed in. Where the funds go in the time Btwn the two transactions I do not know.

There is a small local brewery/bar that will do sidewalk pickup three days a week. Cans , growlers and limited food. Must be paid in advance with a card. No cash sales. You must buy a fresh growler every time so for me I can’t add $8 on top of every fill. I can buy some cans.

    Enjoy

If you buy a gift card and somehow you never get the chance to redeem it....be happy the money went to people who probably deserve it, and feel bad for the fact they can’t operate anymore.

Don't think that's true, pretty sure they can use the money they received for the gift card right away. They would need to set up some type of liability account for bookkeeping purposes to track the gift cards though.

In NJ the liquor stores can remain open until 8 PM. The breweries can sell beer for off site consumption only. Bars and restaurants can sell package good to go if they want to.

Like everywhere, one by one, restaurants, taprooms, and bars are closing here. One taproom/restaurant is staying open, ironically named "Sickies".

Another local brewery - BKS - has announced online sales with pick-up scheduled over the weekend. Curious to see how it goes.

I’m wondering how it’ll work if we all get a thousand bucks from trump?

Will the folks vehemently opposed to socialism accept the money????

I’ll certainly spend a bunch at my local breweries and beer places

I highly doubt that any of those restrictions are going to be lifted anytime soon, considering the liquor laws only changed 2 years ago. I could see 50+% of the breweries in Oklahoma that opened in the last year, are taproom only, and/or those without canning/crowler fills going away if the bar/brewery shutdown lasts longer than 2 months. I can't think of a single brewery around the OKC metro that has a kitchen where they could serve to-go food, and the only one that I can remember having food is the Prairie Taproom in Tulsa. Everyone else relies on food trucks.
