Threw caution to the wind and drove into Brooklyn today to Grimm and OH. No traffic, no lines. Wish it was always this easy without the ordeal we are going through.

I literally begged my buddy to make the OH/Grimm trip because of this exact reason and he said he’d rather go to Sand City even though it would have been a shorter ride into BK for where he was coming from. Couldn’t get him to change his mind. I’d go myself, but I still have work, plus my kids are home 24/7 now.

Speaking of OH/Grimm, when are we getting an IPA collab?

A sour collab would probably be a net greater benefit.

Walking that fine line between genius and crazy. I like it.

As usual, ACE is tasting a lot better now than on week 1. I don't have hazegramp's refined palate for ACE vintages, though.

Why does Grimm charge a delivery fee and a service fee?

Because they're using caviar. Just like Postmates, seamless, etc. they tack on additional fees to make money.

I really like that it’s an option but man I’ve always disliked those services like Caviar/DoorDash etc. It’s like you order an $18 pizza. After tax, delivery fee, service fee, tip (which you have to select up front which is odd) - you’ll end up dropping $30 easy.

Obviously right now it’s crazy times with a lot of people at risk from an employment standpoint - so I’m all in for helping so that brewery/bar/restaurant workers plus the couriers continue to get paid. Just mean normally.

Ah thanks. I rarely get delivery. I'd rather go pick it up myself to save on charges plus it gives me an excuse to get outside (under normal circumstances) and take a break from my family haha. When someone said "caviar" on the last page, I thought they were referring to the Finback TIPA.

the bitch of it is those services sometimes (all the time?) they'll also take a piece of the $18 too.

but hey, now i don't have to call a place on the phone and place my order; nor have to have cash for the delivery driver. :flushed:

They’re delivering beer, good beer, right to your friggin doors and you’re complaining about fees??

Bwhahahaha. “I have to pay a $10 service charge for this split case of Afterimage and Lambo delivered right to my door? What the fuck!”

Yea considering what their cans go for in retail/distribution here, that's about as reasonable as one could expect.

I’ll put it this way. I’ll buy one of you guys a 4-pack and pay for your gas to get me a mixed case of Grimm (or Other Half) if you deliver it to my house.

I am close to Kane at my actual house, so if they started delivery, I'd prob go broke

Not sure who that’s directed at. I’m not complaining - explicitly said it was a good thing for everyone’s sake right now. Just saying as an aside / non-beer related / non-corona related comment, that I don’t like those delivery services

Yeah I read that too. Though I dunno - maybe for the restaurant that cut is less than paying their own delivery guy?

It wasn’t really directed at anyone. Just saw some posts about fees and was wondering how anyone could complain about a tacked on fee for getting the best beer in the city delivered to their door. I live in the ‘burbs, I’d love to get Grimm delivered to me. Maybe I’m just jealous. I’m still working everyday like nothing in the world is going on right now.

Mylar Arch Imperial IPA (8.3%) with Shared Brewing We first concocted this Imperial IPA when hanging with our buds @sideprojectbrewing during their Invitational in January. We brewed a beer with a similar grain bill for @sharedbrew while we were there and dreamed up this Other Half version with Citra, Galaxy, Cashmere, Nelson Sauvin and Mosaic. Label inspiration is a different kind of arch than the arches we have across from us in BK. $20 per 4 pack.⠀
    ⠀
Triple Cream Imperial Oat Cream IPA (10%) Triple dry hopped imperial oat cream IPA with citra, eukanot, kohatu + wai-iti with a final dry hop of citra lupulin powder and galaxy. $22 per 4 pack.
