Have a good Thursday. I am not doing much today other than playing more Oblivion, with the disease lockdown and all.

Bombastic Murder. Awesome RIS. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, cinnamon, ancho chile, cayenne pepper, vanilla, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, wood, herbal, grass, peppercorn, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, grass, peppery, roast, charred bitterness; and cinnamon/pepper spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel. Mild increasing warmth of 10.5%, and lingering spice heat. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/spicy dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors. Dangerously smooth/soft. Quite pronounced on spice flavors but not overwhelming. Awesome balance of super rich malts, cocoa, vanilla, chile, cayenne, and earthy hops. Mild residual sweetness with lingering bitter/spicy dryness. Very impressive. 4.13

4 Hands Absence of Light - Peanut Butter & Jelly. Fantastic stuff. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge peanut butter, lightly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seed, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, biscuit, and toasted brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of coffee, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, grass, pepper, roast, charred bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky, fairly sticky/chalky, and lightly slick/tannic mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering tart/bitter dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors. Very smooth/soft, minimal warming 7.5. Fantastic balance of jammy raspberries, PB, rich malts, and lactose; with balancing earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Hits the PB&J flavors spot on for sure, while still feeling like a milk stout. 4.23

First beer in a couple days I haven't really be a drinking mood lately. May hit up my local bottle/growler shop to grab some stuff today just to help them out since they said on Facebook they are still open but not many people are coming in.

Anchorage Hell Trinken. Delicious Helles. Lasting fluffy head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toast, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. A bit muted/fruity/yeasty aromas. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very clean lager flavors, minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 5.3%. Great clean pils malt showcase, with perfectly balanced noble hops. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Spot on style. 3.91

Maybe I’ll ramp up to some cellar stuff a bit later, as I have a good amount of 8-10 year old stuff that I’d better get cracking on

I figured since we're going to be mostly housebound for a while, it would be a good idea to open up the pool.

    Working on the supply . . .

Chandeleur Island Brewing Tarpanator Winter Lager

Taste at first reminds me of dark European style chocolate though it has no chocolate flavor. What it has in abundance is a deep malt flavor redolent with caramel and toffee, both of which come across as clean and finish dry. Rather simple flavors that are balanced and well integrated.
